Dimensional Landlord C60
by MarineTLChapter 60: Finding Bai Wei, Every Pirate Must Die
After deciding to head for the pirate stronghold, Bai Yu did not wait at all. She changed into simple men’s clothing and led the fishermen who had resolved to go with her. They boarded the pirate ship and set sail toward the stronghold.
The skull and crossbones flag remained on the ship, and aside from Bai Yu, the rest were the original fishermen who had been forced to sail for the pirates. Consequently, even as the ship approached, it did not attract much attention from the pirates.
Bai Yu and these fishermen still shared no common language, but through Bai Miao’s previous mediation, they were all certain they shared the same goal. Even communicating only through gestures, they were able to interact smoothly.
In this manner, guided by the fishermen, the vessel arrived at the pirate stronghold without a hitch.
As expected, the location of the stronghold was one of the islands Bai Miao had circled earlier.
When they were about to dock, Bai Yu felt a wave of nervousness, fearing they might be questioned. However, perhaps the pirates were overly confident in their own security and firmly believed nothing could go wrong. As the ship drew near, no one even asked a question before letting them pass through.
When disembarking, Bai Yu did not lead the way but instead walked in the middle of the group.
Her stature had not been particularly tall originally, but after more than a year of proper food and drink, combined with the cultivation of Spiritual Qi and magic, her height had shot up significantly. Even compared to these fishermen, she did not look out of place, blending in perfectly while standing in the middle of the crowd.
“The place where the fishermen are held is over there. Should we head over?”
Through a combination of speech and gestures, Bai Yu understood the man’s meaning.
Releasing the imprisoned fishermen to join the fight was a strategy they had agreed upon before arriving.
However, before that, there was another matter.
Bai Yu made a gesture for eating.
The fisherman immediately understood her: “Right, they are like us. They only get one meal the day before they go out to sea. Even if we release them now, they won’t be able to do much against the well-fed pirates.”
But no one knew where the pirate kitchen was.
So, the group hid in a corner for a while until mealtime, when the aroma of food wafted over from a certain direction.
The group exchanged glances and quickly crept toward that direction.
They encountered pirates along the way, but usually, after just a brief glimpse of each other, Bai Yu would knock them unconscious with a single blow of her staff.
She could not yet distinguish between the good and bad among those on patrol, so she refrained from killing for now. Only after confirming who were the true pirates and who were the captured fishermen who had not yet committed crimes would she take the next step.
Bai Yu dragged the newly unconscious pirate into a corner and continued toward the kitchen with the fishermen.
Upon seeing the situation inside the kitchen, Bai Yu had a new idea.
She knocked out everyone in the kitchen one by one, then had the fishermen following her change into their clothes. She instructed them to carry out the duties in the kitchen while she hid herself to the side, gripping her staff.
Soon, someone came in to ask about the progress of the cooking.
One of the fishermen who could speak the pirates’ language chatted briefly with the man, silently leading him into a corner.
Once the people outside could no longer see, Bai Yu raised her staff and struck.
Where there was one, there were more. When the pirates didn’t get their food, they would send people to inquire. Wave after wave, they were all knocked out by Bai Yu, tied up securely, and tossed into a hidden corner.
…
“Why isn’t the food ready yet?”
“I’ve already sent five or six people to hurry them up, but not a single one has come back. Big Brother, could something have happened?”
“This is our territory, how could anything happen?”
“But those men really haven’t returned.”
“Send more people to call them. Take a larger group this time. I don’t believe something could still go wrong.”
…
“Too many people are coming this time. Those pirates will likely start suspecting us. Get the food ready, we’re going to rescue the fishermen. When more pirates show up later, we’ll have to fight them together.”
After dealing with this latest batch of pirates, Bai Yu gestured back and forth to the fishermen.
The fishermen understood her words. They packed the grain into cloth bags one by one, then slipped out of the kitchen quietly before the next wave of people arrived.
They also slipped out with several carts of pirates.
Even though these pirates were unconscious, they couldn’t be left where they were. If they woke up and became reinforcements for the pirates, it would be bad news.
Of course, not all pirates had the chance to be dragged away.
Among them were some notorious pirates recognized by the fishermen. These did not even require Bai Yu to lift a finger, as the fishermen naturally would not let them go.
Along the way, the pirates they encountered were dealt with one by one by Bai Yu.
They arrived at the prison area without any further disturbances.
There were guards at the entrance here as well.
According to the fishermen, these guards were evil men, so Bai Yu didn’t need to be polite. she stepped forward and struck immediately. Of course, she didn’t use too much force, otherwise the scene would have been quite unsightly.
Having dealt with the guards, Bai Yu looked at the heavy, closed wooden door and kicked it directly.
The lock and the door itself tilted inward.
Bai Yu took a few steps forward, grabbed both sides of the door frame, lifted the door to check the situation inside, and then set the door down in an empty spot.
It was lucky she caught it, otherwise the falling door really might have crushed a few people.
Once the door was down, the fishermen rushed forward, explaining the situation in their respective languages. They pointed to the fallen guards at the entrance and then to the pirates on the carts, whose fates were uncertain.
Then, without waiting for them to think too much, they began distributing food.
Bai Yu did not speak. She simply narrowed her eyes, searching for a familiar face among the messy, filthy crowd.
She searched row after row. Suddenly, she saw someone lying half-collapsed on the ground, showing half of his profile. She immediately hurried over, turned the person over, and brushed the hair away from his face.
It really was Bai Wei!
“Third Brother!”
Bai Wei’s eyes remained closed.
Bai Yu reached out a trembling hand to check his breathing. Feeling a faint breath, she immediately took the water skin from her waist and pressed it to his mouth.
While she was feeding him water, someone brought over a piece of flatbread.
Bai Yu glanced at the person, nodded, and brought the bread to Bai Wei’s lips.
Although he seemed semi-conscious, he took bites of the water and bread as they reached his mouth.
Once there was something in his stomach, he slowly opened his eyes. Seeing Bai Yu, he looked somewhat dazed.
“Third Brother,” Bai Yu grabbed his hand and shook it, “Third Brother, it’s me, Xiao Yu.”
“Xiao Yu, is it you?” Bai Wei grabbed her hand back, his voice hoarse as he cried out, “It’s warm, I’m not dreaming. Xiao Yu, run! This is a pirate stronghold, it’s dangerous for you here. Run quickly!”
“Don’t be afraid, Third Brother. I’m very strong now,” Bai Yu helped him up and placed the bitten bread into his hand. “Eat the bread, Third Brother. Hurry. Once you have your strength back, we’re going to fight the pirates. These pirates have committed countless crimes, they all deserve to die.”
Bai Wei didn’t speak, but someone nearby spoke up: “Is it true? You’re really leading us to fight the pirates?”
Hearing a familiar language, Bai Yu turned her head abruptly. After seeing the person’s appearance, she sighed in relief. It wasn’t someone she knew. She nodded and said, “Yes, we’re going to fight the pirates together. Eat quickly. Only after you’ve eaten and drunk enough can we take action. There are too many pirates on this island and too few of us. We can’t handle it alone; we need your help.”
Bai Wei gripped the bread: “Xiao Yu, pirates are dangerous. You should leave by yourself.”
Hearing his words, Bai Yu patted his shoulder: “Oh, why are you so talkative? Eat your food and get up. If you don’t get up soon, the pirates will be here!”
As they spoke, the other fishermen and the people imprisoned there had already come to an agreement. After eating, these people stood up and proactively went to the entrance to take the blades confiscated from the pirates.
“We’re dead either way. Instead of being tortured to death by pirates, we might as well fight. Even if we die, we’ll take a few of those bastards with us!”
“If I had any strength left, I would have fought them long ago. These animals deserve to die! They all deserve to die!”
“Kill them!”
“Kill! Kill! Kill!!!”
Bai Wei was even weaker than the pirates.
Before Bai Yu could ask, a man standing nearby explained the situation. “Your Third Brother was captured because he stood alone against the pirates to let his family escape. The pirates weren’t kind to him; they wanted him to give up his family’s location, but he refused to say a word. Be careful, his body is covered in wounds.”
Bai Yu looked at the dark, stained clothes Bai Wei was wearing and suddenly realized something. “Are these all bloodstains?”
The man beside her sighed. “To be honest, he was already at death’s door when he arrived. He had a high fever last night, and I didn’t think he would last through today.”
Bai Yu didn’t dare move Bai Wei anymore. She immediately pulled a pile of medicine from her bag and opened several packets. “This is to stop the bleeding, this is for inflammation – sick people always have inflammation in their bodies – and take this too. Eat them all.”
As she spoke, Bai Yu fed the medicine into Bai Wei’s mouth packet by packet.
Bai Wei struggled to open his mouth and swallow.
After swallowing two packets, he couldn’t help but speak up. “Xiao Yu, is this really medicine? I can handle bitter medicine, but why do these taste so strange?”
Bai Yu gave a forced laugh. After all, these were medicines from the Magic Plane. To ensure their potency, they hadn’t used an Upgrade Card to absorb the Magic Elements within. Anything containing Magic Elements naturally tasted like the ordinary food from that world.
Because of this, and because the three sisters had been cultivating constantly, they almost never fell ill, so none of them had actually tasted these medicines themselves.
“It’s medicine regardless, and it hasn’t gone bad. Just eat it. You’ll recover faster if you do,” Bai Yu said, feeding him again.
Bai Wei could only frown and swallow. Once he finished all the medicine, he couldn’t resist saying, “This tastes even worse than the rotten fish and shrimp we used to eat on the boats.”
When he said that, the people nearby who had been curious and eager to try the medicine in Bai Yu’s hands instantly looked away and scrambled up to grab their knives.
Just then, someone came running at a sprint.
“They’re here! The pirates are coming!”
Bai Yu immediately grabbed a staff from beside her and pushed down Bai Wei, who had just finished his medicine. “Third Brother, stay here. Don’t you dare come out for my sake. In your current condition, coming out would only get in my way.”
With that, she stepped out the door.
With a light leap, she reached a higher vantage point where she could look down and see everything in every direction.
There were more people coming than she had expected, and every one of them was armed with a long blade.
At this point, there was no need to worry about whether there were any decent fishermen mixed in among them. Since they were the ones initiating the attack, showing them mercy would only lead to her own side’s downfall.
Bai Yu looked down at the fishermen below and made a sharp cutting motion across her throat.
Every fisherman raised their blade.
The pirates must all die!!!
