    Chapter 63 – Auntie, I Don’t Want to Try Anymore (9)

System: What’s it got to do with me? I’m not the one getting screwed anyway.

Though thinking that, the system still tried to comfort Yu Liuxue with a bit of kindness: “Host, you’re overthinking it. Didn’t Liu Qingru say she couldn’t do it? Maybe she just wants to lock you in the room to work overtime and revise a hundred design drafts.”

Yu Liuxue: “…” That’s even scarier.

Wrapped tightly in her little blanket, Yu Liuxue slowly turned around, clearly stiff in expression. “President Liu?”

Liu Qingru had just freshened up. Her smooth hair draped over her shoulders, softening the brilliance of her already exquisite face. The sharpness in her eyes had transformed into a kind of smoldering allure. She wore the same bathrobe as Yu Liuxue, though she had thrown a coat over it to step out.

Her pale calves were long and elegantly shaped, her delicate feet slipped into a pair of slippers. As soon as she took off her beige coat, her waterfall-like curls cascaded to her waist. Every move she made oozed seductive charm. Yu Liuxue’s gaze subconsciously swept over her swan-like neck, her graceful collarbone, and finally landed on her slender waist.

Liu Qingru took great care of herself—she looked like she was barely in her thirties. Usually cold and aloof, she now exuded a gentle sensuality that could make anyone lose themselves.

Yu Liuxue clutched her clothes tightly and excitedly whispered to the system, “Crap, if I stay in the same room with her any longer, I’m gonna get wet…”

    System: “Shut up!”

After hanging her coat, Liu Qingru slowly poured herself a glass of hot water. With her back to Yu Liuxue, she asked nonchalantly, “Had your fill of looking?”

Yu Liuxue’s heart trembled. She quickly nodded, “Yes, President Liu.”

Liu Qingru chuckled lightly, then approached with the glass of water. A faint fragrance drifted over—mature, womanly, and enough to make one’s face flush. She handed the water to Yu Liuxue. “Have a sip.”

Yu Liuxue had no idea what Liu Qingru was up to, but utterly enchanted, she took it and drank half in one go.

Liu Qingru’s eyes flickered with amusement. Then she smiled, “You drank too much.”

    Yu Liuxue: “…?”

A growing unease began to take root. She had a bold guess, but couldn’t be sure. Liu Qingru kept doing seemingly trivial things, and Yu Liuxue followed her blankly—until they stopped at the bedside. Suddenly, Liu Qingru pushed her down, and the two of them tumbled onto the white sheets.

    Yu Liuxue: “…!”

The bed was a full 2.2 meters wide. The mattress was soft as cotton. Liu Qingru’s smooth hair brushed Yu Liuxue’s neck, her unique scent even stronger than before. Their body heat transferred through contact, stirring desire in both of them.

Liu Qingru pressed close to her ear, held her chin, and before their lips met, she smiled and murmured, “You’ve had your look. Now it’s my turn.”

A warm kiss fell on her lips. Yu Liuxue’s eyes widened slightly, her heart skipping a beat. Her cheeks burned red, like a freshly boiled shrimp. Between gasps, she quickly asked, “President Liu, didn’t you say you couldn’t…?”

Liu Qingru smiled. “And you believed that?”

    She did believe it—until now.

Gazing into Liu Qingru’s bottomless eyes, Yu Liuxue instinctively shrank back. “President Liu, actually… I’m not really ready yet…”

With a swift tug, Liu Qingru undid her clothes.

Yu Liuxue’s blood rushed wildly. She exclaimed to the system in excitement, “I knew it! How could someone I’m into be ‘not good’? She was just messing with me before!”

The system snorted and switched to Do Not Disturb mode.

But Yu Liuxue didn’t last long before completely surrendering. Her eyes misted red, her pale skin exposed the blue veins on her neck from straining too hard. Tearfully clutching a pillow, she mumbled incoherently, “President Liu, no more… really, no more…”

    Liu Qingru only pressed harder.

Yu Liuxue started regretting everything again. How was this “can’t do it”? This was too damn capable! They say women in their forties are like wolves and tigers—Liu Qingru embodied that phrase to perfection. Not a flaw to be found. Biting down on the pillow, Yu Liuxue wept as she called out, “Daddy, please save your baby girl…”

After all those times Yu Liuxue had teased her, Liu Qingru wasn’t some saint. Every time she saw that needy look on the girl’s face, she had wanted to punish her properly. Originally, she had planned to wait a bit longer—but Yu Liuxue just couldn’t wait and came knocking herself.

Biting Yu Liuxue’s shoulder gently, Liu Qingru’s voice turned hoarse. “Ruoruo, do you realize your mistake?”

Yu Liuxue turned back with red eyes, stubbornly saying, “No.”

Ruoruo? Who’s Ruoruo? I’m not Ruoruo. There is no Ruoruo here.

And so, Yu Liuxue suffered another round of “discipline” until dawn. Only then did Liu Qingru let her go. Yu Liuxue lay limp on the bed, her pillow soaked in tears, her nose red, looking pitiful enough to ignite Liu Qingru’s just-quelled desire once again.

    Yu Liuxue: “…!”

    No, no more!

“President Liu.” She quickly switched tactics, forcing herself into Liu Qingru’s arms and rubbing her soft head against her chin, whining, “I can’t anymore.”

Yu Liuxue had no idea how she survived. All she knew was that during her time in France, she got ravaged by Liu Qingru every night. During the day, she had to drag herself out to attend fashion shows—it was hell on earth. At one point, Guo Zao even asked her innocently, “Manager Qiao, why do you look so tired? Are you not feeling well? Should I get you some medicine?”

“It’s fine, just… a mosquito kept bothering me last night, didn’t sleep well.”

Guo Zao’s eyes widened in surprise. “Really? Then maybe we could share a room tonight?”

Yu Liuxue politely declined the heroine’s kindness. After returning to China and getting off the plane, she immediately dragged her suitcase and fled. Wearing heels, despite usually whining every night about being “unable to go on,” she now ran like the wind—faster than any sprinter.

Liu Qingru merely curled her lips and looked away. No rush. There’s always next time.

Back at her tiny rental, Yu Liuxue ranted to the system, “I think this world needs a spinoff novel, starring me. Title: The Domineering CEO’s Flustered Runaway Wife.”

    System: “Wrong.”

Yu Liuxue raised an eyebrow. “How is it wrong?”

System: “It should be Tempting Trouble: The Domineering CEO’s Sweet Little Runaway Wife.”

Yu Liuxue: “…?” System, you’ve changed. You used to scoff at this kind of melodramatic garbage—now you even came up with a better title than I did!

Once rested, Yu Liuxue returned to work and started avoiding Liu Qingru like the plague. Every time she saw her, she turned and ran—even deliberately took detours. Soon, people at the company started noticing something strange. Previously, Yu Liuxue had always charged up to President Liu like a wolf on the hunt, practically shouting “Come and get me!”

    Now—

“Manager Qiao, President Liu wants to see you in her office.”

“Manager Qiao, President Liu says your design draft needs revising.”

“Manager Qiao, President Liu ordered you to be in her office in three minutes.”

    “Manager Qiao…”

Yu Liuxue: sobs uncontrollably I regret everything.

“System, Daddy, is it too late to back out now?”

System, absolutely gleeful: “What do you think?”

Luckily, this time Liu Qingru had official business with her. The acquisition of the Guo family’s company was nearing its end. Liu Qingru and Liang Yin’s company had grown once again, and their new development strategy was gradually taking shape. They had built their business on fashion and occasionally branched into cosmetics. As the only designer whose work had broken sales records, Yu Liuxue was quickly assigned to the cosmetics department to design a new Qixi Festival makeup line.

Yu Liuxue let out a sigh of relief. “Liang Yin wants to kill me, Liu Qingru wants to screw me, only the heroine treats me gently, politely, and worshipfully.”

“So, Host, do you still remember your mission?”

Of course, of course. How could she forget?

Recently, Qin Feng had been trying to persuade Guo Zao to quit her job and join Liang Yin’s company to work with him. But Guo Zao was firmly opposed. After multiple failed attempts, Qin Feng got frustrated. And so, the hero and heroine had their first cold war.

Yu Liuxue couldn’t help but complain, “No one in this world is easy to deal with.”

Guo Zao felt incredibly distressed. Though she was introverted and timid by nature, that didn’t mean she was willing to give up the job she loved. She liked her coworkers in the department, especially Yu Liuxue. But her boyfriend kept urging her to work at his company—again and again. No matter what Guo Zao said, Qin Feng wouldn’t listen. Eventually, their disagreements turned into a standoff.

The more Guo Zao thought about it, the more upset she became. Just as she pushed back her chair to get up, she saw Yu Liuxue walking toward her gracefully in a business suit and high heels. Guo Zao’s eyes lit up slightly. She immediately stood and carefully approached her, asking, “Manager Qiao, are you free tonight? I haven’t thanked you properly for helping me before, and I’d really like to treat you to dinner.”

Yu Liuxue could tell that Guo Zao’s intentions went beyond mere gratitude, so she smiled and nodded. “I’m free.”

Guo Zao brightened instantly. “Then I’ll wait for you after work, Manager Qiao.”

Not long after, Liu Qingru came over to call Yu Liuxue to the office. As soon as Yu Liuxue stepped in, she said confidently, “President Liu, I already have plans tonight.”

Liu Qingru raised her eyes slightly, gazing coolly at the self-assured girl. Her red lips curled faintly.

    “With whom?”

“Someone from my department—Guo Zao.” Yu Liuxue looked as if she could barely contain her delight. “She said she wants to thank me with a meal. I’ve turned her down so many times, I can’t refuse again. So, President Liu, there’s no need to drive me home tonight.”

Liu Qingru studied her intently. Though Yu Liuxue had every right to go, she inexplicably felt a pang of guilt under that gaze.

After a long pause, Liu Qingru nodded lightly. “Go ahead. Text me when you’re done—I’ll come pick you up.”

Yu Liuxue understood that this was Liu Qingru’s final concession, so she agreed. As soon as the workday ended, Guo Zao brought Yu Liuxue to the restaurant she had reserved. Not long after they sat down, Guo Zao couldn’t help but express her frustration and disappointment.

“Manager Qiao, I really don’t know what to do anymore.”

Yu Liuxue immediately assumed the role of a warm, understanding older sister and gently asked, “What’s wrong? Don’t worry, Xiao Guo, just take your time and tell me.”

Tears welled up in Guo Zao’s eyes as she choked out, “Qin Feng wants me to quit this job and work at aunt’s company. But I really like my current job—and I like you… I like everyone here. I don’t want to abandon myself just because I’m in a relationship, to give up everything I love just to accommodate someone else.”

“He got angry at me because of this.” Guo Zao’s voice grew low with emotion. The more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. Was being in a relationship supposed to mean total submission? It’s the 21st century—how could such outdated notions of male superiority still exist?

What’s so hard about this? Yu Liuxue replied at once, “Are you hoping to gain Aunt Liang’s approval?”

Guo Zao hesitated for a moment before slowly nodding. She needed Aunt Liang’s approval, and she needed to marry into the Qin family and help her father make a comeback. It was her responsibility—she had no other choice. She grew more dejected. “Manager Qiao, do you think I should just listen to Qin Feng?”

“I’m not saying you should listen to him. I just think this is an opportunity for you to earn Aunt Liang’s approval,” Yu Liuxue said as she gently took Guo Zao’s hand. Guo Zao glanced at her slender fingers, and her face turned bright red. Her heart started to race, her mouth went dry.

Manager Qiao’s hand… was so smooth.

“Xiao Guo, you’re very capable, and everyone sees your hard work. Even if you change jobs, you’ll still excel. If you follow Aunt Liang and complete outstanding projects right under her nose, wouldn’t it be easier to win her over?”

“So quitting isn’t for Qin Feng—it’s for yourself.”

Guo Zao thought her reasoning made sense, though she was still afraid. But she knew she had to face that fear. After a moment of hesitation, she bit her lip and asked hopefully, “Then, Manager Qiao, can I still message you, call you, or ask you out to dinner in the future?”

Yu Liuxue smiled gently. “Of course you can.”

Guo Zao lowered her eyes quickly, hiding the joy in them. She whispered, “Manager Qiao, you’re so kind.”

After the dinner, Liu Qingru arrived on time to pick up Yu Liuxue. As soon as she got in the car, Liu Qingru turned off the interior light, and then a flood of kisses descended. Yu Liuxue struggled to breathe and protested, “President Liu, someone might see…”

Liu Qingru paused, her lashes trembling lightly. “You don’t like it?”

    Then the heated kisses resumed.

Yu Liuxue thought that would be the end of it, but to her shock, Liu Qingru followed her home and launched a passionate assault that lasted through what felt like 800 rounds on her little bed. Yu Liuxue could barely move her legs afterward, her head tilted back, long hair splayed across the bed as she sobbed for mercy.

But Liu Qingru showed no mercy.

The next day, Yu Liuxue naturally took a day off—and Liu Qingru, benevolently, approved it. After Liu Qingru left for work, Yu Liuxue bit the blanket and cried herself to sleep.

Guo Zao eventually changed her mind, which made Qin Feng overjoyed. He immediately booked a restaurant and invited her to dinner. He was so happy that Guo Zao couldn’t help but feel a little guilty—was she being too selfish? If just one decision could make Qin Feng this happy, it meant she still held an important place in his heart.

So Guo Zao took his hand and said softly, “I’m sorry, Qin Feng. I was being selfish. I didn’t consider your feelings…”

Qin Feng shook his head. “I was wrong too. I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that. Can you forgive me? I’ll talk to Mom tonight and have her arrange for you to join the company.”

Guo Zao smiled and nodded. “Okay.”

Liang Yin was not pleased when she heard her son wanted to bring Guo Zao into the company. Though her son’s performance at work had been passable lately, she still didn’t like nepotism—it disrupted company order. She quietly sipped her tea without agreeing or rejecting the idea.

After a while, Qin Feng couldn’t help but say, “Mom, Xiao Zao used to work under Qiao Ruo. She’ll definitely be competent.”

    That little troublemaker?

Liu Qingru’s company had been receiving rave reviews in the industry lately, thanks entirely to Yu Liuxue. Even if Liang Yin didn’t like her, she had to acknowledge her talent. So her interest was piqued, and she exposed her son’s real motive, saying, “If she worked under Qiao Ruo, why not bring Qiao Ruo in directly?”

“She was your ex-girlfriend after all,” Liang Yin said slowly with a smirk. “Right?”

Qin Feng knew his mother was deliberately making things difficult. Precisely because Qiao Ruo was his ex, she was absolutely off-limits. That woman was cunning, shameless—if she entered the company, she’d throw the whole place into chaos within two months.

After some thought, Qin Feng said, “Mom, you know Qiao Ruo has unspeakable feelings for Xiao Zao—not to mention for you too…”

Liang Yin took another sip of tea and slowly asked, “Oh? You don’t want me to find you a stepmom?”

Qin Feng: “…” Well, not entirely opposed.

But anyone would be better than that wretched Qiao Ruo!

After teasing her son and enjoying his hopeless expression, Liang Yin finally agreed to bring Guo Zao into the company. As she left, she couldn’t help but think—Qiao Ruo really was a menace. Even her son flinched at the mention of her.

    Interesting.

Her thoughts drifted to Yu Liuxue’s beautiful face and playful expression. Her dark, bright eyes always sparkled with mischief. She looked clever and shrewd. Liang Yin thought—getting her son a stepmother, huh…

She had been single for many years.

Not long after, Guo Zao resigned from her job, and Qin Feng happily brought her into the company. By midday, everyone knew that Manager Qin’s girlfriend was the fallen heiress of the bankrupt Guo family. Curious, disdainful, skeptical, and mocking gazes all fell on her, making Guo Zao feel increasingly aggrieved.

Even though she had mentally prepared herself for all kinds of judgment, when those chaotic eyes actually landed on her, it hurt a hundred times more than she imagined.

Those stares made her feel like she couldn’t lift her head, made her too self-conscious to even walk around freely. All she could do was bury herself in work at her desk. But even ignoring them didn’t help. Groups of people would pass by her desk, deliberately speaking loudly to mock and provoke her.

It had taken all her strength to get through the morning, and Guo Zao couldn’t resist going to look for Qin Feng—only to find he wasn’t at the company. That gave others the perfect excuse to pounce on her again, accusing her of being manipulative and scheming, saying she must’ve used some trick to crawl into Qin Feng’s bed and cling to his thigh the moment she went bankrupt. Qin Feng, they said, only saw her as a plaything, just something to fool around with. Yet she was so foolish as to take it seriously, even thinking she was about to become a phoenix perched on a high branch.

Guo Zao couldn’t even bring herself to eat. She hid alone in the bathroom, quietly wiping away her tears. Her eyes were swollen like walnuts, and she had to pile on layers of makeup just to cover them up. She desperately wanted to quit and return to her old company, but…

When she remembered her father’s instructions, she pressed her lips tightly together, filled with pain and inner conflict.

When Yu Liuxue heard the news, she couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for the female lead. Turning a soft, sweet romance heroine into a battle-hardened businesswoman was indeed a bit much. Moved by compassion, Yu Liuxue sent Guo Zao a message: “Xiao Guo, how’s it going at the new company? Are you adjusting okay?”

Guo Zao had been about to head out, but the moment she saw Yu Liuxue’s message, her tears fell like a flood, ruining her freshly patched-up makeup. She hastily ran back to the bathroom, biting her lower lip to stifle the sound of her crying. Her eyelashes were damp, and tears swirled in her eyes with a stubborn glint. She could no longer see the phone screen clearly and replied by feel: “Manager Qiao, I’m doing great.”

Manager Qiao still cared about her—she had to hang on.

Guo Zao thought, Manager Qiao is so capable; I have to become someone like her too. I mustn’t let her down.

She pulled herself together, wiped away the tears, and reapplied her makeup. When a few coworkers walked in and saw Guo Zao calmly fixing her makeup, one of them sneered sarcastically, “Oh, you’re here too? What’s wrong? Young Master Qin didn’t back you up, so you’re hiding here to cry?”

Guo Zao trembled all over. She forced down her fear and, with a trembling voice, coldly retorted, “Someone like you—Qin Feng wouldn’t even look at you if you were lying naked in front of him.”

Her companion couldn’t help but burst out laughing, earning a fierce glare from the woman. Guo Zao tucked away her lipstick, stepped past them in her heels, and as she passed by, deliberately bumped into the woman hard. “Next time you talk to me like that, I’ll have my good friend tear your mouth to shreds.”

The “good friend” she mentioned was naturally Yu Liuxue.

Yu Liuxue couldn’t help but laugh out loud, amused. “So that’s the image I have in the heroine’s heart?”

“But hey, that’s fine. As long as she asks, I’ll fly over right away and help her rip them apart.” Yu Liuxue beamed. The heroine was stronger than she’d expected, but still…

“System, wasn’t she just crying alone in the bathroom a moment ago? How did she flip so quickly?” She even dared to talk back—it was like a cornered bunny suddenly baring its teeth. So cute.

System: I know, but I’m not telling you.

Liang Yin had instructed her secretary to closely monitor Guo Zao’s every move. She knew exactly how the company staff were ostracizing her, whispering about her shady tactics. She saw how Guo Zao endured the morning, skipped lunch, and spent over an hour crying in the restroom. Liang Yin disdainfully pushed her chair back. “That’s all she’s got?”

“She can’t even handle the first day. How’s she supposed to help Qin Feng build his career?”

Liang Yin couldn’t stand women who were timid and cried at the drop of a hat. Besides crying, what else could she do? A woman should live boldly and freely, making others look up to her in awe, trampling those who once looked down on her.

A woman can live well without relying on anyone.

Just then, her assistant rushed in. “President Liang, that woman in the bathroom just cussed someone out.”

Liang Yin raised an eyebrow. “Oh? What did she say?”

Assistant: “She said if they dare talk trash again, she’ll have her good friend tear them apart.”

    Liang Yin: “…”

    Secretary: “…”

Liang Yin asked, “Who’s this ‘good friend’ of hers?” Then realization dawned. Could it be… that little scumbag Qiao Ruo? Besides her, Liang Yin couldn’t think of anyone else. She sneered—what a sly one, even managing to win over her romantic rival.

But why, when it came to her, was it always just provoking and angering her?

    Was it on purpose?

    Trying to get her attention?

While Guo Zao was struggling miserably at the new company, Qin Feng was simply enjoying having a compliant girlfriend who went along with everything. He even boasted about it in front of others, which only made everyone stare at Guo Zao more brazenly, practically spelling out their filthy thoughts on their faces.

When Yu Liuxue heard, she cursed, “What a damn idiot.”

That day, Liu Qingru and Liang Yin’s companies were starting a new round of fundraising, so they both scheduled dinner with potential partners to discuss collaboration. Liu Qingru brought Yu Liuxue along; Liang Yin brought Qin Feng and Guo Zao. The two parties headed to the restaurant separately.

Once the bigwigs arrived, Yu Liuxue sat to Liu Qingru’s right, with Liang Yin on her other side. Wedged between two powerhouses, Yu Liuxue immediately froze, not daring to move. Especially under Liang Yin’s complicated, suspicious gaze, Yu Liuxue couldn’t help but wonder—What did I do to upset Aunt Liang again?

Eventually, she reached a sad conclusion: In front of Liang Yin, even breathing was wrong.

When Guo Zao found out Yu Liuxue was coming, her heart nearly burst with anticipation. The moment she saw her, it felt like she had someone to rely on again. With Yu Liuxue beside her, even if there were blades and fire ahead, she felt she could charge forward bravely.

So when Yu Liuxue appeared, Guo Zao’s eyes stuck to her and wouldn’t let go. How could a shrewd old fox like Liang Yin not notice that? She shot a couple of sharp glances at Yu Liuxue, who remained clueless.

Yu Liuxue: “…?” What did I do this time?

She felt so miserable—frail, pitiful, helpless.

Liang Yin thought this girl was really something. Even her future daughter-in-law couldn’t escape her charms. She’d have to find time to teach her a lesson.

Soon, Qin Feng also picked up on the strange tension between his ex, his mom, and his current girlfriend. He couldn’t make sense of it at all, so in the end, he just blamed everything on Yu Liuxue. After a few rounds of drinks, when the big bosses were good and tipsy, Qin Feng finally found a chance. He dragged Yu Liuxue out of the room and growled, “Qiao Ruo, I’m warning you again—stay away from my girlfriend.”

He paused, then roared even angrier, “And my mom too!”

Trying to become my stepmom? Not happening!

    Yu Liuxue smiled sweetly. “Okay—but…”

“What if they were the ones coming on to me? What should I do then?” She blinked innocently. “Qin Feng, did it ever occur to you—what if they like me too much and just can’t stay away?”

My girlfriend likes my ex? No way! Qin Feng felt like his forehead was turning green. His face darkened. “Don’t you dare drive a wedge between me and Xiao Zao!”

Yu Liuxue shrugged. “Oh. Then I’m heading back in.”

Qin Feng stopped her again. “And my mom. Stay away from her too, or you’ll regret it for the rest of your life!”

Yu Liuxue gave him a “do you think that’s even possible” look and sauntered back inside. Liang Yin and Liu Qingru had already called the assistants to haul the drunk executives away. Since they could hold their liquor well, the two women decided to keep the party going. After moving to another venue, Liu Qingru had to leave early due to something urgent. With Guo Zao and Qin Feng chatting outside, that left only Liang Yin and Yu Liuxue in the room.

Leaning back on the sofa with her eyes closed, Liang Yin’s face was softly outlined by the lighting—mature and elegant, no light could hide her charm. Yu Liuxue’s heart stirred. Unable to hold back, she moved closer and leaned in to whisper by Liang Yin’s ear, “Aunt Liang, why do you hate me so much?”

    “Did I do something wrong?”

Liang Yin opened her eyes instantly, gaze sharp and clear. Yu Liuxue pouted with a pitiful look, her flushed cheeks and glossy cherry-red lips shimmering from the wine. Her long lashes fluttered as she spoke in a soft voice, “Aunt Liang, if there’s something you don’t like about me, just tell me. I’m willing to change for you.”

A flicker of emotion passed through Liang Yin’s eyes. She leaned in toward Yu Liuxue, suddenly interested. “Oh? And how exactly do you plan to change for me?”

“This…” Yu Liuxue hesitated, carefully reaching out her hand to rest on Liang Yin’s back of the hand. Liang Yin held back the urge to kick this little schemer away and let her fumble around. Suddenly, Yu Liuxue smiled, her eyes curved with satisfaction. Her jet-black long hair framed her flushed cheeks, and her fair flawless skin glowed with a faint rosy sheen. With a teasing tone, she said, “Auntie Liang, just tell me how you want me to change.”

She curled her lips, deliberately revealing a generous portion of her chest. “Or… Auntie Liang, why don’t we go to the bed and talk it over slowly? I’ll obediently listen to your scolding.”

“Not a single word of objection.”

Liang Yin stared at her expressionlessly for a long moment, then, unable to tolerate it any longer, looked toward Liu Qingru, who had long been standing at the door, and said, “Qingru, did you just hear what she said?”

The old man on the subway checked his phone.

Wasn’t Liu Qingru supposed to have left already?

Yu Liuxue’s heart sank as she looked up and saw Liu Qingru’s face darkening like a storm about to break. “…”
