    Chapter 93

They had clearly gone through the same thing—so why was she still lying like a corpse in bed, while Li Huan could already get up and move around as if nothing had happened?

Wasn’t the one on top supposed to be doing more of the work?

You Changqing was on the verge of tears.

Let’s rewind to last night. After Shen Lihuan and You Changqing returned to their room, Shen Lihuan slammed the door shut and locked it with a sharp click. The sound made You Changqing’s heart thump wildly in her chest. She looked at Shen Lihuan with a mix of nerves and anticipation.

She didn’t know that when she looked at Shen Lihuan with eyes like that, there would always be a glimmering sheen of water in them, enough to stir the heart. Even steel tempered a hundred times would melt in her gaze—let alone Shen Lihuan, who loved her deeply.

With a swift motion, Shen Lihuan pulled the curtains closed. She turned around and met You Changqing’s already quickened breath, then scooped her up in her arms. “What are we waiting for? This day has finally come.”

Seeing that the moment she had long dreamed of was about to happen, You Changqing suddenly felt her heart skip a beat. People online all said the first time was painful, and she was a little scared. She quickly tugged on the corner of Shen Lihuan’s shirt. “Lihuan, let’s take a bath first!”

Shen Lihuan looked down at her tenderly and immediately noticed the fear in her eyes. She tossed You Changqing slightly in her arms, causing her to squeal and instinctively cling to her neck. “Alright, whatever you say.”

The two of them entered the bathroom together. Shen Lihuan turned on the shower, and hot steam began to pour down instantly.

You Changqing swallowed nervously and, with trembling hands, started to undress. But after a long while, she hadn’t made much progress. Shen Lihuan sighed softly, gently pulled her into an embrace, and began kissing her, little by little coaxing her into relaxing.

Her gentleness enveloped You Changqing completely. Soon, the fear in her heart melted away, replaced by a growing anticipation. As her body softened inch by inch, Shen Lihuan tangled her tongue with hers while deftly undressing her at the same time.

Standing under the hot shower, their bodies pressed tightly together. You Changqing clung weakly to Shen Lihuan’s slender waist to keep from slipping. Shen Lihuan’s hands were like fire-starters, igniting flames across her body. Every cell felt like it was boiling. Her breath came out in hot puffs, and sweat beaded on her forehead only to be washed away by the shower.

The bath went on for a long time. By the time Shen Lihuan carried You Changqing out of the bathroom, half an hour had passed.

With her hair still damp, You Changqing felt uncomfortable. She lightly kicked Shen Lihuan. “Lihuan, dry our hair first or the sheets will be soaked.”

Shen Lihuan gave her a hard kiss on the lips, then reluctantly got up to grab the hairdryer. She cranked it to full power and quickly dried both their heads.

By the time she put the hairdryer away, You Changqing had already curled up under the blanket, only her beautiful, misty eyes peeking out.

Shen Lihuan turned off the light and slipped under the covers. You Changqing once again found herself breathless. Shen Lihuan was incredibly gentle, worried she might be in pain. But when a sharp sting hit, You Changqing couldn’t help but cry. Shen Lihuan immediately used her powers to soothe her and ease the pain. Soon, You Changqing relaxed and her brows unfurrowed.

Compared to Shen Lihuan, You Changqing was far less practiced. But Shen Lihuan, with her abilities, only frowned briefly—it didn’t affect her much.

The rest of the night was full of satisfaction and pleasure. Once they got a taste of it, they couldn’t stop and went at it until midnight. Not to mention the second round they had in the bathroom—how could You Changqing not end up feeling like a corpse?

She didn’t see Lihuan and refused to get out of bed. Since the curtains were drawn, You Changqing had no idea what time it was. When she finally reached for her phone and turned it on, she nearly dropped it in shock.

    It was already past noon!

Why hadn’t Lihuan woken her up? It was the weekend, and Aunt Gu and the others would definitely know she was still lazing in bed.

You Changqing’s already pink cheeks turned even redder. She struggled to sit up and get dressed, but just as she moved, the door opened. Shen Lihuan walked in holding a bowl of red bean porridge.

Seeing You Changqing trying to move, Shen Lihuan quickly said, “Don’t move, Changqing. I’ll help you get dressed.”

Changqing hadn’t fallen asleep until after 2 a.m.—she definitely didn’t have the strength to move.

Fuming, You Changqing grabbed a pillow and threw it at her. “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?! Great, now Aunt Gu and the others definitely know I’m still in bed!”

Shen Lihuan dodged the soft pillow with ease, placed the porridge on the table, and walked over to the bed to hug You Changqing through the blanket. “What are you afraid of? They won’t laugh at you. That porridge—Mom told me to make it for you.”

You Changqing’s expression softened slightly, but her cheeks remained puffed out. Shen Lihuan, like coaxing a child, swayed her gently in her arms. “Good Changqing, don’t be mad. This was something we’d have to go through sooner or later. It just happened a bit earlier, that’s all. Getting mad will make you age faster. Come on, give me a smile.”

You Changqing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She smacked her back lightly and hesitated before asking, “Aunt Gu didn’t say anything, right?”

Shen Lihuan shook her head. “Mom just pulled me aside and told me to be gentler. She wants us to be close.”

At that, You Changqing finally let out a sigh of relief and leaned limply against Shen Lihuan.

Shen Lihuan captured her lips in a long kiss, only letting go when You Changqing was almost out of breath. Her eyes were full of tenderness. “I already applied the ointment for you. Are you still in pain?”

You Changqing took a deep breath to steady herself. “Not too bad, just still a little sore.”

“I’ll apply more for you tonight. For now, let me help you get dressed. Go wash up—the red bean porridge is still hot. It’ll be just right after you finish freshening up.”

Shen Lihuan kissed her ear with a smile and pulled out a set of loungewear to help her change.

Once You Changqing came downstairs, Gu Qinglan and Shen Jiashu treated her just like usual. Only then did she finally relax completely.

The weekend flew by, and it was time for Shen Lihuan and You Changqing to return to Imperial University. It was as if little Youyou knew his sister was leaving—he wailed so loudly that Shen Lihuan had to soothe him for a long time before he could accept the reality. But the moment she disappeared from sight, he started crying all over again.

Shen Lihuan was also reluctant to part with her beloved little brother, but life always has its unavoidable realities. For the sake of her education, she had no choice but to leave home for school.

Whether Shen Lihuan and You Changqing had entered that old-married-couple stage or were simply too busy with coursework, after the formal semester started, the two did little beyond sharing kisses—they hadn’t taken their exploration of human anatomy any further.

Neither of them was the type to sit idle. With packed schedules, most of their free time was spent buried in the library. Even back at the dormitory, they’d be holding books and diving deep into their studies.

Still, despite the busyness and fatigue, they remained sweet and loving.

Whoever finished class first would wait for the other outside the corresponding building. They had lunch and dinner together every day. At night, they fell asleep in each other’s arms. Life was peaceful, even uneventful, but it was something worth savoring.

There were simply too many subjects to study in clinical medicine, including human anatomy, histology and embryology, physiology, and over a dozen core courses. At times, they barely had a moment to even sip water.

Thankfully, Shen Lihuan started from a different level than the other students in her department—she was a max-level pro starting over, while the others were true beginners. Thanks to her exceptional talent and perception, as well as knowledge that far surpassed even senior students several years above her, she quickly stood out among the freshmen. She became a favorite of the professors, so much so that rumors spread of the top experts almost getting into a fight over who would take her as a disciple.

Shen Lihuan claimed it was all gossip. Even if those experts wanted to take on disciples, they wouldn’t choose a freshman. Did they look like they had that much free time? That said, the professors were indeed very kind to her.

Immersed in the sea of knowledge, Shen Lihuan didn’t even realize how time passed—before she knew it, she was about to become a sophomore.

Chang Hong was heading to college this year too. Although his grades weren’t as outstanding as Changqing’s or Lihuan’s, he still had a decent shot at getting into Imperial University. He was naturally restless and didn’t want to take over the family business, so instead of majoring in finance, he chose computer science. Honestly, Chang Hong was more interested in messing around in the entertainment industry—ideally, he’d get the chance to act alongside his idol, Huo Ran. But once a certain jealous vinegar jar found out, that dangerous thought of his was cruelly nipped in the bud.

Mr. and Mrs. You were quite democratic. Since their son didn’t want to take over the business, they didn’t force him. He could just hold shares and collect dividends. The company would go to their daughter instead.

As for their son’s older boyfriend… You Zongzheng did grit his teeth a bit. Their daughter had already been stolen away, and now their son had been taken too.

After starting college, with the workload being so intense, Shen Lihuan had far less contact with Qiu Rongxin and her son, as well as the Liu family.

Qiu Rongxin had never forgotten that Shen Lihuan gave her a great job. Every holiday, she’d call or message Shen Lihuan to check in. Little Tianlin would also occasionally call to say he missed her and Changqing. So, their relationship remained fairly close.

As for the Liu family, they were still deeply grateful to Shen Lihuan and You Changqing for saving Dundun’s life. Liu Yuanqin and Li Huixin frequently sent them pictures of Dundun and updated them on his antics. Dundun was now over two years old, mischievous and wild—turn your back for a second and he’d start wrecking the house like a talking “Husky on a rampage.”

Shen Lihuan and You Changqing had visited their home before, and Dundun particularly liked Changqing. Whenever he saw her, he’d clap his hands excitedly. It was unclear if he remembered that she was the one who saved him when he was just a few months old.

Xiao Tianlin was about to start middle school this semester. He was quite gifted academically and extremely hardworking, earning the top score to get into the best junior high in the capital, No. 1 Middle School.

When Qiu Rongxin got the good news, she cried tears of joy, then immediately thought to share it with Shen Lihuan and You Changqing and invite them over for dinner.

She knew clearly that she and her son had only come this far because of Lihuan’s help. Without her, she might still be bedridden, and there’s no way her son would’ve had the means to study.

Shen Lihuan and You Changqing didn’t decline her invitation. They had a great impression of little Tianlin and treated him like a younger brother. Seeing him get into No. 1 Middle School, both of them were proud of him.

Now that Shen Lihuan and You Changqing were adults, they would occasionally drink a little when eating out, let alone when celebrating good news like this. Both of them had two drinks. Qiu Rongxin, who wasn’t a great drinker, had a glass as well. Only Tianlin, still too young, could only sit by the side with wide eyes, watching his mom and the two older sisters clink glasses.

Qiu Rongxin had been working at Shengyan for two years now, with her salary steadily increasing. Still, buying a house in the capital was tough, so she didn’t dare spend much. She saved every penny, dreaming of buying a home for herself and her son in the capital—only then would they truly have a place to call their own.

After hearing that, Shen Lihuan suggested she pay the down payment first and then repay the mortgage monthly. “After all, it’s almost impossible to buy a house here without a few million in full. Also, if the money falls short, I can lend it to you.”

Qiu Rongxin quickly waved her hands. “No, no, I couldn’t possibly trouble you with everything. I’ve managed to save quite a bit these past two years, and I should be able to cover the down payment.”

“All right then. But if anything comes up, don’t hesitate to call me. It’s already past eight. Changqing and I should get going.”

Seeing she really didn’t seem to be in difficulty, Shen Lihuan nodded. If they didn’t head back soon, little Youyou would start fussing again.

“Okay, Tianlin and I will walk you out.”

Qiu Rongxin and Yang Tianlin quickly got up. The four of them walked to the community gate together. After saying goodbye, Shen Lihuan and You Changqing got into the car. Luo Er was the one picking them up this time.

But the car had only gone a few meters when a blue truck came speeding like lightning—crashing straight into Shen Lihuan’s sedan. The car flipped several times in the air before slamming heavily into the ground!
