Professional Assassin C30
by MarineTLChapter 30: Interstellar World (5)
“You are insolent!” Sala shouted in a loss of composure, his delicate face nearly twisting with rage.
Just as Baron Sala, overwhelmed with fury, was about to recklessly summon his mecha, Lin Yuetian gave a subtle nod to his “cousin.”
His “cousin” smiled.
Then, all the guests present, including those high-ranking and prestigious figures, witnessed a sight that seemed to etch itself into their retinas, branding their souls for eternity. The face of this unfamiliar yet strikingly beautiful young man split open like a thinly painted advertisement being torn apart from within. First, a pair of bluish-green appendages emerged, followed by a massive inverted triangular head, covered in slime, with two glistening compound eyes twisting around to scan the surroundings. His slender human body suddenly ripped apart, and from the center burst forth two enormous pincer-like claws, snapping out like spring-loaded blades. A grotesque, towering insectoid form shed its human shell, standing ominously on the ground, as if an unholy jack-in-the-box had sprung to life in an impossible transformation.
The scene unfolded so abruptly that no one reacted until it—or rather, he—bit down on the head of the nearest person, chomping off half of it. Only then did General Vincent regain his senses, his expression shifting dramatically.
“A Zerg!?”
Lin Yuetian calmly corrected him, “A Zerg Queen.”
The Zerg Queen (despite being male) had an utterly inhuman appearance, one so disturbing that an ordinary person would suffer an immediate mental breakdown just by looking at it. Many aristocrats, fascinated by collecting high-grade Zerg specimens, had secretly fantasized about encountering a Zerg Queen. Unfortunately, it turned out they were all just armchair enthusiasts. The Zerg Queen was absurdly powerful; anyone without a mecha or strong combat skills—especially those with lower mental strength—was utterly helpless against it. Even among the elite generals present, their A-rank mental power barely made a dent. The Zerg Queen swept through its surroundings with ease, effortlessly grabbing Baron Sala and yanking him out of his mecha. However, instead of eating him, it stuffed him into a hollow cavity in its abdomen, carrying him along as it continued its slaughter.
Baron Sala screamed, “Start a live broadcast! Lin Yuetian actually brought a Zerg Queen into the Imperial Capital—he’s a traitor to humanity!”
Over a hundred live-streaming cameras switched back on. The blood-soaked scene sent the comment section into a frenzy, filled with panic and even despair.
General Vincent had already donned his mecha, preparing to rescue Sala. Meanwhile, Crown Prince George had turned pale green, clearly unable to comprehend how a simple wedding had devolved into this catastrophe.
Lin Yuetian raised a hand, halting Vincent. His words were straightforward.
“The Zerg Queen and I struck a deal. I bought an A-Class black-market drug that conceals Zerg pheromones for it, and in return, I helped it infiltrate the most high-profile gathering in the Imperial Capital—General Vincent and Baron Sala’s wedding—for a decapitation strike. In exchange, it promised me that I and the General would have a wedding that would be known throughout the entire interstellar world.
“To put it more clearly,” Lin Yuetian continued, “the Zerg Queen is pregnant and ready to give birth. If the General refuses to marry me live on air, I’ll let the Queen deliver its offspring right now. A single brood consists of over fifty high-grade Zerglings—even as newborns, they’ll be a nightmare to handle.”
Lin Yuetian turned to a nearby live-streaming camera and smiled. “One hundred and fifty high-grade Zerglings have infiltrated the Imperial Capital…”
The comment section completely exploded. Fear was instantly swallowed by rage as viewers frantically denounced Lin Yuetian as a traitor.
【Mission Three: Become Famous Across the Stars—Completed.】
The system was utterly speechless. “When… when did you—”
Then, like a sudden realization hitting it, the system gasped in shock.
“It was that time! When you went on that high-grade Zerg hunting mission! Because of the Zerg’s and the Queen’s mental barriers, I lost my vision during that period—why didn’t I realize it sooner? High-grade Zerg and the Queen share a telepathic link! That’s when you secretly contacted the Queen without me knowing!
“No wonder I was in the dark! And this morning, when you went to pick up the Zerg Queen, I actually thought you were bringing in some fake new lover to provoke Vincent—turns out when you mentioned Jing Ke assassinating the Qin Emperor, you were actually referring to this! The Queen sacrificed some of its own offspring, giving you high-grade Zerg corpses, and in return, you smuggled them to Count Garcia to secure your invitation to the wedding, ultimately sneaking the Queen inside!”
“Exactly. Plus, I had to obtain the pheromone-masking drug through proper channels.” Lin Yuetian nodded. “Remember? Count Garcia gave me two vials of A-Class suppressants. I only used one. The second vial was what I fed to the Queen this morning before bringing it in.”
“This drug is heavily regulated in the Nas Empire—well, at least for commoners.”
“You’re insane…” Vincent roared. “You betrayed the Empire! You betrayed humanity! I will kill you!”
“You really are insane! Do you honestly believe the Zerg Queen will keep its end of the deal? You think an A-rank like you can negotiate equally with it?” The system was in full panic mode. “Once this is over, that thing will definitely kill you!”
Faced with Vincent’s fury and the system’s confusion, Lin Yuetian remained completely unfazed, his smile unwavering.
Until Vincent, overwhelmed with rage, finally snapped and lunged at him—
But Crown Prince George stopped him.
The reason was simple: just as Lin Yuetian was speaking, he had secretly sent George a private message. He promised that as long as the Crown Prince officiated his wedding with Vincent and paid him an obscene sum as a “wedding gift,” he would ensure the Zerg Queen was exterminated here.
And with the Queen dead, the Zerg race would be significantly weakened in the short term. This way, instead of taking the blame, George would be seen as a hero who turned a crisis into an opportunity, gaining immense favor with the Emperor.
“Damn it, even at a time like this, you’re still making money…” The system was so dumbfounded that it momentarily forgot its fear. “Your determination is truly admirable.”
“General Vincent, loyal soldier of the Empire,” George announced with a deathly pale face, his fingers tapping furiously as he wired Lin Yuetian the agreed-upon amount. “By the authority of the Nas Empire’s first heir, I command you to obey my order—”
He pointed at Lin Yuetian.
“—and marry him!”
Lin Yuetian retracted his mecha and called out to the Zerg Queen, “As agreed, once the wedding is done, you can give birth as you please. Let your children feast. Oh, and if I die, eat the Crown Prince first.”
“We Zerg keep our promises,” the Queen mimicked human speech.
By now, most of the guests had been slaughtered. Baron Sala, trapped in its abdomen, was barely clinging to life, too weak to protest anymore. The loudest objections came from the live-stream comments—but Lin Yuetian couldn’t care less.
Straightening his military uniform, Lin Yuetian politely addressed Vincent. “We’re both soldiers, so let’s not be too particular. General, please.”
Vincent, face contorted, gripped his hand.
Crown Prince George looked as if he were about to pass out. “Under the Empire’s glory, under the witness of the stars, under the decree of fate—you shall be bound together. Your mental strength will belong to each other. Your pheromones will be each other’s possession…”
In the background, Baron Sala’s screams echoed.
George turned to Vincent. “Do you take him?”
“I… do…” Vincent choked out.
“And you?” George asked Lin Yuetian.
“I do,” Lin Yuetian answered without hesitation.
The comment section completely imploded.
【Mission Two: Prevent the Baron and General’s Wedding, and Hold a Wedding Known Across the Empire—Completed.】
The moment the system’s announcement ended—
Lin Yuetian raised his energy gun and, without a second’s hesitation, blasted a hole straight through Vincent’s chest.
Even the Zerg Queen was momentarily stunned.
“…What the hell are you doing!?” The system was shocked.
“Ensuring my own safety.”
And then, he pressed a detonator.
“Remember those nano-bombs I bought? I put them in the Queen’s pheromone-masking drug.”
BOOM—
