She’s Crazy C04
by MarineTLSo frustrated I don’t even want to talk about it.
Fairy Su Zai Zai’s Diary
After the first class in the afternoon, Su Zai Zai immediately stood up.
Just as she was about to walk out of the classroom, the prelude to the eye exercises started playing over the PA system.
She instantly sat back down with a groan.
Jiang Jia looked at her, speechless. “What’s wrong with you?”
She lied with a straight face, “My bladder is about to explode.”
Once the eye exercises were over, Su Zai Zai rushed to the third floor, where the honors class was located, pretending she was going to the restroom. Unfortunately, she didn’t run into her beautiful crush.
She didn’t hurry back either, deliberately lingering in the hallway for quite a while.
But even when the class bell rang, she still hadn’t seen him.
Even so, Su Zai Zai was so nervous she felt like she was about to die…
It was as if her heart was about to leap out of her chest. Her breath was short and rapid, as though she was suffocating, and her cheeks were burning red.
During the break after the second class, she shamelessly dragged Jiang Jia along with her.
Su Zai Zai couldn’t stop talking about her male god. “I’m telling you, Zhou Xu Yin is too good-looking! He’s ridiculously attractive! How can a guy look like that?! I can’t take it anymore, ahhhhh, Zhou Xu Yin…”
His eyes, his nose, his lips—blah blah blah…
Jiang Jia: “…”
Yep, a lovestruck fool in full bloom is indeed terrifying.
The two of them walked down to the third floor and turned left.
At a glance, they saw “Zhou Xu Yin” walking toward them from the end of the corridor.
He was walking straight ahead, and when he looked up, his gaze briefly swept over the two of them before shifting away.
Su Zai Zai’s breath caught, and she unconsciously tightened her grip on Jiang Jia’s arm, turning away as if fleeing. She abruptly changed the subject, blurting out, “What should we eat tonight?”
Jiang Jia was caught off guard. Her mind was still filled with the name Su Zai Zai had been repeating, so she instinctively blurted out, “Zhou Xu Yin?”
Zhang Lu Rang glanced over.
Su Zai Zai’s face instantly turned beet red, and she dragged Jiang Jia away at a faster pace.
When they reached the girls’ restroom, Su Zai Zai looked utterly devastated. “What do I do?! Do you think he heard us saying we wanted to eat him? I want to cry, ahhh!”
Jiang Jia was in disbelief. “Wait, he just walked past us? How did I not notice?”
Su Zai Zai yanked Jiang Jia back out.
At that moment, Zhang Lu Rang happened to turn the corner, revealing half of his side profile.
Jiang Jia squinted, then quickly shook her head. “Too far, I can’t see clearly… I was too busy listening to you talk just now and didn’t pay attention to anything else.”
The two of them walked back into the restroom.
Su Zai Zai turned on the faucet and splashed her face with water, looking gloomy. “Oh my god, I feel like as long as he’s within my line of sight, I get so nervous…”
“You’re lovestruck.” Jiang Jia stared at her like she had discovered a new species. “This is the first time I’ve seen you blush. It’s actually kind of scary.”
Su Zai Zai took a deep breath, looked at herself in the mirror, touched her face, and said seriously, “I think I look quite charming.”
Jiang Jia: “…”
—
After the weekend break, Su Zai Zai became increasingly dissatisfied with how nervous she got every time she saw “Zhou Xu Yin.”
After thinking it over, she finally came up with a strategy to catch his attention.
After the third class in the morning, she grabbed her water bottle and told Jiang Jia, “Let’s go get some water.”
Jiang Jia rolled her eyes. “Can we limit this to three times a day?”
“Just go with me two more times, and after that, I’ll go by myself.”
Jiang Jia reluctantly followed.
On the way, Su Zai Zai reflected seriously, “I don’t think my previous approach was working. Avoiding eye contact as soon as I see him makes it impossible for him to notice me.”
Jiang Jia rolled her eyes again. “So what are you going to do?”
“When we see Zhou Xu Yin, just call my name out loud—full name, got it?”
“…Okay.”
To get to the water dispenser on the third floor, they had to pass by the honors class. As they walked past, Zhang Lu Rang happened to come out of the classroom with his water bottle.
The two of them immediately quickened their pace and followed behind him.
Jiang Jia cooperatively called out, “Su Zai Zai!”
Su Zai Zai responded loudly, “I don’t think that problem is solved that way. Look, a car braking is an example of uniform deceleration in a straight line. Using reverse thinking, we can treat it as uniform acceleration from a stationary state…”
She rattled off a long string of physics jargon.
Jiang Jia was so shocked her jaw nearly dropped.
Su Zai Zai looked proud. “So the answer should be twelve meters per second.”
Hehe, a top student must have a soft spot for academically talented girls!
After Zhang Lu Rang finished filling his bottle, Su Zai Zai didn’t rush to follow him. Instead, she turned to Jiang Jia, eyes sparkling, and asked, “How was my performance just now?”
Jiang Jia looked at her with some pity. “…How long did you spend memorizing that?”
Busted.
Su Zai Zai wasn’t embarrassed at all and admitted honestly, “I memorized it all last night.”
“When you substituted the values just now, you got the unit for acceleration wrong… You kept saying ‘meters per second.’”
Su Zai Zai was dumbfounded. “Then what’s the correct unit?”
“Meters per second squared.”
Silence.
A long pause later, Su Zai Zai said, “Jia Jia, let’s take a different route back.”
She really didn’t have the courage to walk past the honors class again.
She had tried to show off but ended up exposing herself as a fraud.
—
“Jia Jia, I think I need to salvage my image.” Sitting in her chair, Su Zai Zai analyzed calmly, “I was too impulsive just now. I should’ve shown off my English or social studies skills instead.”
Jiang Jia was utterly speechless. “…Then why the hell did you talk about physics? Didn’t you score only forty points on your last physics test? Did you forget?”
“I thought he looked like a science student…”
“Dude, we haven’t even been separated into science and humanities tracks yet!”
Su Zai Zai bent down and banged her head on the desk a few times in frustration. “Do you think I should memorize an English essay to salvage my image?”
Jiang Jia stroked her chin and thought for a moment. “I think you’d better not. You might as well just apologize properly and explain to him that you weren’t actually insulting him last time…”
Su Zai Zai’s eyes lit up. “You’re right! You’re absolutely right! I’ll go find him in a bit!”
Seeing her like this, Jiang Jia couldn’t help but laugh.
Su Zai Zai took out a mirror and combed her hair while muttering to herself, “Mm, first, I need to make myself look stunningly beautiful to dazzle his heart.”
A moment later, she let out a sigh.
Jiang Jia, confused by her sudden change in mood, asked, “What’s wrong?”
“I feel a huge sense of crisis.” Su Zai Zai stared at her reflection, biting her lip. “Do you think he might fall in love with himself while looking in the mirror?”
Jiang Jia: “…”
The more Su Zai Zai thought about it, the more insecure she became. “I feel like, in his world, everyone else must look ugly.”
“…You’re exaggerating.”
“Do you think Zhou Xu Yin might be so captivated by his own looks that he ends up turning gay? Then he might just settle for another handsome guy in the honors class…” Her imagination started running wild.
“…”
“No way! That Zhang Lu Rang! He needs to stay far away from my Zhou Xu Yin!”
“Shut up.” Jiang Jia flicked her on the forehead. “By the way, people always say Zhou Xu Yin has that bad-boy charm, but I only get cold and aloof vibes from him.”
“What’s so great about being a bad boy?” Su Zai Zai scoffed. “I love his abstinent and icy demeanor. So handsome! So thrilling!”
“Can you stop fantasizing? Let him rest for a bit in your mind, okay?”
“Alright, I’ll give him a ten-second break.”
“…”
“I’m counting now. Ten, nine, eight…”
“…You lunatic.”
—
After class, Su Zai Zai decided to be independent and didn’t ask Jiang Jia to go with her.
She hyped herself up as she walked toward the honors class.
She kept rehearsing in her head what she needed to say: “Hello, I’m Su Zai Zai from Class Nine. I’m the one who asked for your name on the field last time…”
What else should she say…
Before she could finalize her thoughts, she had already arrived at the honors class.
Taking a deep breath, she peeked in through the front door.
She saw him sitting in his chair, leaning back slightly, holding a notebook in one hand, his face expressionless.
A girl sitting in front of him was talking to him.
Su Zai Zai withdrew her gaze and stopped a passing boy at the door, lowering her voice. “Hey, can you call Zhou Xu Yin for me?”
At the mention of that name, the boy immediately looked over at Zhang Lu Rang, then quickly reacted, “Oh, he’s on leave.”
On leave?!
Su Zai Zai was petrified…
W-what?!
Isn’t he sitting right there?! Can’t they see him?!
She raised a trembling hand and pointed at Zhang Lu Rang in panic. “H-him…”
A boy sitting in the first row of the second group suddenly burst out laughing, turning to Zhang Lu Rang. “Hey, Zhang Lu Rang, you’re falling behind! This week, three girls have come looking for Zhou Xu Yin, but you only got two!”
Hearing this, Zhang Lu Rang lifted his head and glanced toward the front door.
His eyes met Su Zai Zai’s outstretched finger pointing directly at him. His eyebrows twitched slightly, but he quickly looked down again and gave a soft “Oh.”
Zhang Lu Rang…
So for four whole days, she had been fantasizing about the wrong person.
And she had even mistaken her actual crush for a love rival.
…She was going to go back and kill Jiang Jia.
