Chapter 41: Anything Is Fine, All Resources From This Plane Are Acceptable

“We have tenants downstairs too.”

“Only tenants, no landlord. I don’t know who the owner of these houses is, or how they selected us to come here and rent.”

“It’s okay, we can learn slowly,” Bai Yu said, opening the display for several rooms below. They couldn’t see every scene; the images shown to them were always normal conversations, and nothing inappropriate ever appeared. Right now, the guests who had just arrived were shown. “The guests for those rooms on the 28th floor have all arrived.”

“They’re all so happy,” Bai Xi said, looking at the guests on the screen. “They look incredibly happy, just like… just like when we first got the Check-in shells.”

“Maybe they’re as happy as we would be if we could return to the mainland one day and see Eldest Uncle, Second Uncle, and everyone else,” Bai Yu said. “If such a day ever comes.”

Bai Xi thought about it and nodded. “Then we would definitely be as happy as they are.”

This group of guests wasn’t just happy. Like the mother and two daughters from before, they began to weep in each other’s arms after entering the rooms. Although they weren’t facing them directly, Bai Yu and Bai Xi could still feel their emotions.

This time, they walked all the way to the first floor.

The dilapidated scenes they had observed from above were only the tip of the iceberg compared to what they saw once they were actually on the ground.

“It looks like something terrible happened to this plane,” Bai Xi said, reaching out to take Bai Yu’s hand. “It feels even more severe than the Magic Beast attacks on the Magic Plane.”

“Yes, Magic Beast attacks only hit certain areas, but something much worse seems to have happened here,” Bai Yu said, pulling her toward the right as they spoke. “We saw from the board earlier that many people actually live nearby, but we can’t see them on the surface. They must live underground.”

“Why live underground?” Bai Xi asked curiously. “Even if the houses here have become like this, can’t they be rebuilt?”

“How about clothes?” Bai Yu suggested. “A lot of people here are dressed differently than us.”

“Then we’ll ask for clothes too, and pictures for Miao Miao to look at, and…” Bai Xi looked at the bottom column. “There’s an option here for ‘Anything Goes.’ It says ‘Any materials usable in this Plane are acceptable, Shell will determine the price, with a ten percent commission fee.'”

Bai Yu had no objections. “Let Shell handle it. We don’t understand any of this anyway.”

“Then I’ll pick ‘Anything Goes,'” Bai Xi reached out and made the selection. Only after finishing did she ask, “How much is a ten percent commission?”

We’re getting these things for free anyway, as long as there are books in the items they give us,” Bai Yu said. “Besides, I’ve heard that scholars have to pay their teachers a tuition fee.
