Lin Yuetian stands before the camera, introducing himself:
“Hello, everyone. I am Employee ID ****4729. My world is referred to as cyberpunk-style in your search engines. Currently, I am on a company-approved leave to return to my original world after becoming a permanent employee. In response to the parent company’s request to enhance mutual understanding, I am filming an ordinary day of mine.”
He glances at his watch.
“It’s now 8 AM. I woke up at 6 AM. These past two hours were spent freshening up and getting ready to go out.”
The camera briefly captures his casual suit.
“This is my usual work attire. Dressing properly is a sign of respect toward colleagues.”
The camera then zooms in on his palm, revealing a chip and a few wire-like components.
“My system colleague once saw this and thought it looked scary, but in my world, many people undergo such implants. I dislike prosthetics, so I opted for minimal modifications. You can think of these as my house key, employee ID, smartphone, and computer all in one.”
A sandwich appears on the screen.
“This is my breakfast. I’ll bring it to the office to eat. I bought it yesterday.”
Next, the camera shows a slotted dagger.
“This is my latest knife from the Elemental Series. I usually keep it in a leather sheath inside my sleeve.”
Then, an exaggeratedly designed silver firearm appears on screen.
“This is my current favorite gun. It has a strong recoil and average penetration, but its lethality is excellent. It can inflict wounds with a diameter of over ten centimeters, complete with severe burn marks.”
A glass of juice follows.
“This is my morning drink. Drinking juice in the morning is good for health. I really like this brand.”
Several photos of the same man appear.
“This is my dinner.”
[Pause]
[Moment of Silence]
“I’m kidding. I’ve been practicing jokes lately.” Lin Yuetian picks up the camera, aiming it at his unnervingly charming and almost hypnotic face. “These are the documents I need for work—Alright, I’m heading out now.”
—
The camera follows Lin Yuetian out of his home, revealing a cityscape that remains dazzlingly chaotic even in daylight. The predominantly black cityscape is adorned with an overwhelming amount of neon lights, nearly turning the sky into a swirling furnace of colors.
“My home is close to the company, so I usually walk to work.” Lin Yuetian takes a turn into an alley. “This is a shortcut I often take.”
Several thugs are loitering in the alley. Clearly, someone as impeccably dressed and strikingly beautiful as Lin Yuetian—almost resembling an android celebrity—has caught their attention. They begin to surround him.
“My world’s public security is… not great.” Lin Yuetian continues his narration as if oblivious to them. “Thugs like these usually target people for money, for pleasure, or both.”
“Who the hell are you talking to?” one of the thugs growls.
“Bullets are more expensive than the gun itself, so I try to avoid using it when possible.” Lin Yuetian flicks his wrist, letting the dagger slide into his palm. He waves it slightly at them. “Gentlemen, would you kindly make way?”
“The hell? This lunatic is talking to himself and waving a knife around?” The lead thug scowls. “Brothers, get him! This crazy guy looks damn fine—he’ll sell for a good price at Mechanical Sailor’s Haven!”
The camera shakes briefly before stabilizing at a high angle, likely because Lin Yuetian had scaled the alley wall in two swift moves to set the camera up. The following scene is… difficult to describe. Red dominates the frame almost entirely.
Soon, Lin Yuetian retrieves the camera, wipes his dagger clean, and slides it back into his sleeve.
He checks the time and casually remarks, “Alright, I need to keep moving to work.”
—
About five minutes later, Lin Yuetian arrives in front of a large building.
“This is my workplace, though I don’t usually have a fixed desk job.”
He takes the elevator down to the second basement level, which turns out to be an enormous underground facility. Lin Yuetian greets the receptionist and heads further inside, pausing at the entrance to focus on a digital screen displaying the company’s top employees.
“I have excellent performance.” Lin Yuetian points at the ranking. “I’m ranked first. Before joining the mother company, I maintained a perfect record of zero complaints for ten consecutive quarters in my previous company.”
Walking further in, he clocks in, finds an open workstation, and connects the wires in his palm to two spherical devices on the desk.
“These are data spheres,” Lin Yuetian explains.
He closed his eyes as if receiving some information. Soon, the data sphere printed out a few sheets of paper. Lin Yuetian carefully read them before throwing them into the shredder.
“Now I have to head out for fieldwork.” Lin Yuetian smiled at the camera. “Work is a bit busy. I’ll have lunch outside later. The themed restaurant near the company is quite nice—I’ll show everyone their signature menu.”
Before leaving the company, he picked up a briefcase. As promised, he later filmed his lunch, which indeed looked quite appetizing.
After lunch, Lin Yuetian took a cab to a hotel, circled around to the back, and climbed the exterior wall to the third floor.
“The hotel lobby has surveillance cameras. This route was analyzed and determined by the company to be a safe passage,” he explained while entering the men’s restroom. “Now, I need to change clothes. Sorry, this part can’t be shown.”

Lin Yuetian reappeared in front of the camera, now wearing a rather revealing, see-through white dress shirt with a tie. He remained composed. “I don’t think this kind of outfit is very appropriate, nor does it seem particularly arousing. But for work… In any case, I’m a very dedicated professional.”
He left the restroom, walked down the hallway for a while, and stopped in front of a guest room door, pressing the doorbell.
“Who is it?” A muffled voice came from inside.
“Sir, do you need service?” Lin Yuetian asked gently.
“…How much?”
“You may experience first and pay afterward,” Lin Yuetian said. “We advocate for a more personalized service.”
There was a moment of silence. The man inside seemed to be looking through the peephole.
“…You’re going door to door selling this? Someone like you… that doesn’t seem necessary.”
“We provide premium services, targeting a high-end clientele,” Lin Yuetian explained. “Three months ago, you filled out a preference questionnaire on our Happy City website, specifying your ideal service type, preferred attire, and psychological pricing.”
“…I think I remember that.” The man hesitated before asking, “Are you an android? I don’t like androids.”
“I’m not, sir. I’m a natural human,” Lin Yuetian replied patiently. “You can try it first before deciding.”
“…Alright then.” The man opened the door. “Come in.”
Lin Yuetian stepped inside, then loosened his tie. The man seemed a bit surprised, commenting that this was too fast, but he didn’t get to say a second sentence.
Because beneath the tie was a concealed blade.
Lin Yuetian moved the man onto the bed and connected their data cables. “I’ll erase any traces of my presence through a virus cleanup… Of course, to make this more convincing, I’ll stay in his room for two hours.”
After thinking for a moment, Lin Yuetian suggested, “How about I sing a song for everyone during these two hours?”
Lin Yuetian began singing, while the man stared blankly at the ceiling.
Two hours later, Lin Yuetian finally stopped. “Singing is a bit tiring.”
He left the room and, standing in the hallway, said toward the interior, “Thank you for your patronage. I hope you continue supporting our website.”

When Lin Yuetian reappeared, he had changed back into his suit and was walking down the street. “My work for today is done. Now I’m heading back to the company.”
Upon returning, he checked in with the receptionist about the details, processed the online payment via his data cable, then sat at his workstation and started playing a game.
“This is one of my favorite games. You can build cute little houses and run small fast-food restaurants in it,” Lin Yuetian explained while playing. “Apparently, our company’s intranet has this game too. It’s fun, and all the characters are adorable little animals. I recommend it to my colleagues.”
At 7:30 PM, the alarm on his desk went off.
“Time to clock out,” Lin Yuetian said. “I don’t like working overtime. It’s tiring and bad for your health.”
He left his workstation, said goodbye to the receptionist, and walked home. On the way, he stopped by a convenience store and bought a sandwich, milk, and fruit puree.
“My usual dinner is fruit puree. Eating fruit at night is good for health,” Lin Yuetian explained while eating. “The sandwich and juice are for tomorrow morning. Also, every time I complete ten assignments, I like to take a trip somewhere to relax and relieve stress… Is there anything else I should mention?”
He pondered for a while before having a sudden realization. “Oh, right. Milk. Milk helps with sleep. I drink it before bed.”
Satisfied, Lin Yuetian nodded and smiled at the camera. “Alright, I think that’s everything. This has been an ordinary day in my life. I hope my colleagues can get to know me better and stop making assumptions about me and my partner. I am a peaceful, understanding, and helpful person. My partner’s psychological evaluation results haven’t been great, so I’ll make sure he actively pursues treatment. I hope we can all get along well in the future—alright, that’s it for now. Goodbye, everyone.”
