Chapter 154: Since We’re Chasing Thrills, Let’s Go All the Way – 8

Cheng Susu could hardly resist the urge to sew Yu Liuxue’s mouth shut with a needle. She nearly lost all the poise expected of a refined lady and turned into a vicious stepmother, ready to slap Yu Liuxue straight out of the Su Family’s gates. Taking a deep breath, just as she was on the verge of exploding, Yu Liuxue finally spoke in an unhurried tone, “There’s no one in this world who loves Mom and Little Sister more than I do.”

Su Zhenchuan: “…” Like hell I believe that!

Gu Lian pressed her lips together. Her brows furrowed as she realized things weren’t as simple as they seemed. Looking at the dazed Su Fufu and Cheng Susu, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was seeing a glowing green light flashing over her own head.

Su Fufu was still lying on the floor in pain. At last, Gu Tianyou moved. He strode toward Su Fufu and crouched down, ready to lift her up and take her to the hospital. But just then, someone beat him to it. Yu Liuxue seized the moment when Cheng Susu was so furious her vision went black, and in one swift motion, she scooped Su Fufu up right in front of Gu Tianyou and started walking away.

As she moved quickly, she gently said to Su Fufu, “Don’t worry, Little Sister. I’ll get you to the hospital right away.”

Gu Tianyou, still half-squatting on the ground: “…?”

    Gu Lian: “???”

No one expected Yu Liuxue to suddenly hijack Gu Tianyou’s heroic rescue scene—least of all Cheng Susu. Watching Yu Liuxue stride out the door with her daughter in her arms, Cheng Susu nearly fainted from rage. She rushed after them, only to have Yu Liuxue slam the car door shut and order the driver to floor it. The car shot out of the Su Family gates like an arrow loosed from a bow.

Cheng Susu leaned against the doorway, feeling a surge of blood rush to her head. She was so furious, her high blood pressure nearly flared up.

Gu Lian sat on the sofa in a daze, unable to recover from the shock for a long time.

Yu Liuxue, having made her escape with the female lead in tow, didn’t relax until she confirmed that Cheng Susu and the others weren’t following. Only then did she turn to Su Fufu with concern and say, “Fufu, hang in there. I’ll take you to the best hospital and find the best doctors for you.”

Su Fufu nearly passed out on the spot. She never imagined that the rescue scene she had long anticipated would be snatched away by Su Ying. This was supposed to be the perfect moment for her and Brother Tianyou to grow closer, but Su Ying had ruined everything.

Not only did her fall fail to frame Su Ying and paint herself as the poor victim, but she also missed out on Brother Tianyou’s sympathy and care.

Su Fufu wanted to lash out and ask if Yu Liuxue was out of her mind, but the pain in her hand was unbearable. And when she looked into Yu Liuxue’s eyes—so gentle they seemed ready to drip with tenderness—she found herself unable to say a single word. Instead, she leaned against the car window, hugging herself and silently crying from frustration.

This wasn’t how the story was supposed to go at all!

No matter what Su Fufu was thinking, Yu Liuxue stayed busy tending to her. Eventually, Su Fufu was settled in. The female lead’s luck was terrible—her fall had fractured her right hand. Not only did she need surgery, but they had to insert metal pins. Her entire arm was wrapped up like a rice dumpling, completely devoid of any aesthetic appeal. When Su Fufu woke up, her eyes immediately turned red.

Yu Liuxue rushed over to comfort her. “Fufu, don’t worry. No matter what you look like, I’ll love you forever!”

Su Fufu gritted her teeth. Who wants your love?!

She thought Su Ying had completely lost her mind! Su Fufu couldn’t help but reflect—had she treated Su Ying so terribly in the past that she’d driven her insane? Otherwise, why would she suddenly act so nice?

Her injury throbbed with pain, and in that moment, she suddenly missed Cheng Susu’s care. In the past, even a minor illness would have Cheng Susu fussing over her personally, taking care of every little detail. That kind of concern couldn’t be faked. Their bond had always been stronger than gold.

So why had they suddenly become worse than strangers?

While Yu Liuxue was speaking with the doctor, Su Fufu lay in bed, lost in thought. The more she thought, the stranger it all seemed. Even if her mother had cheated on her father and was now with that Pei woman, things between them shouldn’t have gotten this ugly. So what had really gone wrong?

She turned her head and looked at Yu Liuxue, who was listening intently to the doctor. A vague sense of clarity began to dawn on her. But before she could grasp it fully, Yu Liuxue walked over, sat by her bedside, and let out a deep sigh. “The doctor said your condition is a bit serious. We’ll have to wait and see how it heals before making any decisions.”

Su Fufu’s heart sank halfway into an icy pit. She instinctively glanced at the door. “Aren’t Mom and Dad coming?”

After all that thinking, Su Fufu had calmed down a lot. She understood now that she and Cheng Susu were in the same boat. If she wanted to secure her position as Mrs. Gu, she’d have to rely on Cheng Susu’s support. She was already regretting her earlier outburst. If Cheng Susu was still willing to care for her like before, then as her daughter, she would swallow her pride and apologize to mend their fractured relationship.

She looked toward the door, her eyes full of hope.

Yu Liuxue blinked and sighed again, her tone low. “Dad was going to come, but he got a phone call and had to rush back to the office.”

Su Fufu didn’t care about Su Zhenchuan. What she really wanted to know was where Cheng Susu had gone. She stared at Yu Liuxue, her heart tightening. “What about Mom? Where is she?”

Would her mother really abandon her own daughter over something so minor?

They used to be so close…

“She came when you were in surgery,” Yu Liuxue said. Su Fufu’s eyes lit up. She knew it! Mom still cared about her! She hadn’t been abandoned!

Just as Su Fufu was thinking about how to apologize to Cheng Susu, Yu Liuxue continued, “But Miss Pei got into a car accident, so Mom went to check on her.”

Su Fufu felt like a bucket of cold water had been dumped over her. She went numb. Yu Liuxue glanced at her and added, “You know how Mom and Miss Pei are business partners. Mom already agreed to invest fifty million in Miss Pei’s new project…”

Su Fufu’s face twisted with rage. She gritted her teeth and cut Yu Liuxue off. “That Fox Spirit got into a car accident?”

“Mm. A bicycle scratched this year’s new D-brand long dress she was wearing, and the skin on her thigh got scraped…”

Yu Liuxue hadn’t even finished when Su Fufu, shaking with fury, smashed the water cup beside her. She struggled to sit up, looking like she was ready to storm off and fight Pei Yiling. Yu Liuxue quickly stopped her. “Fufu, don’t be impulsive! The doctor said you need to stay in the hospital and rest. Please calm down!”

Su Fufu had never felt so wronged in her life. Her eyes welled up with tears. Pei Yiling had only lost a dress that could easily be forgotten in the back of a closet, but she had lost a hand! If her arm ended up scarred, would Brother Tianyou still like her the same way?

Her injury was clearly more serious, more urgent, yet her mother had abandoned her own daughter to go visit that Fox Spirit. The stabbing pain of her wound was nothing compared to the ache in her heart. Clutching the edge of the bed, she muttered through gritted teeth, “I will never forgive them!”

Yu Liuxue quickly grabbed her hand and added fuel to the fire. “Fufu, your mom is really doing this for your own good. She just wants you to have a better life, that’s why she’s doing business with Miss Pei. Don’t be upset. Once she finishes handling things with Miss Pei, she’ll definitely come see you.”

Su Fufu immediately looked up, gritting her teeth. “I need to get in line just to see my own mother?”

Yu Liuxue showed a troubled expression. “Fufu…”

“Even though Mom isn’t here, I’m still here with you, aren’t I?”

Su Fufu knew that talking to Su Ying was pointless, so she shut her mouth and sulked in silence. How could Su Ying possibly understand how she felt? She didn’t have a mother. She would never understand.

Even though Yu Liuxue had already stolen his spotlight, Gu Tianyou still stubbornly rushed to the hospital. Yu Liuxue had already achieved her goal, but since she had started the act, she was determined to see it through to the end. True to her twisted methods, the moment she saw Gu Tianyou, she clashed with him head-on. After shooting him a few hostile glares, she turned and leaned close to Su Fufu’s ear, whispering, “Fufu, I have something to take care of, so I need to go. Don’t let him fool you.”

“If he dares to bully you, you call me right away, understand?”

Su Fufu was beyond fed up with Yu Liuxue’s third-wheeling presence. She nodded impatiently and replied, “I got it. Go take care of your business.”

She couldn’t wait for Yu Liuxue to get lost. That way, she could finally spend some quality time with her Brother Tianyou. Ideally, things would heat up quickly, and she’d get pregnant with his child. Even if they couldn’t get married right away, her position as Mrs. Gu would be secure.

Both of them were eager for Yu Liuxue to leave, but she just had to dawdle. First, she held Su Fufu’s hand and rambled on about all sorts of nonsense. Just when Su Fufu was about to explode, Yu Liuxue finally let go and turned to glare coldly at Gu Tianyou, warning, “Gu Tianyou, I’m telling you now. If anything happens to Fufu, I’m holding you personally responsible!”

“Fufu will always be my precious darling. If you dare lay a finger on her, I’ll make sure our parents kick you out of the house!”

Gu Tianyou lifted his eyelids coldly. His thin lips parted as he spat out a single word without mercy. “Get lost.”

Yu Liuxue clutched her chest where the System resided, heartbroken. “System, the male leads in your melodramatic novels are the worst! I’m definitely going to teach him a lesson!”

The System suddenly had a very bad feeling. But it had more pressing concerns at the moment. It couldn’t help but ask, “Host, you just made up a bunch of nonsense about Cheng Susu right in front of the female lead. Aren’t you worried that if they reconcile later, the two of them will team up and come after you?”

Yu Liuxue nodded. “I’m terrified. That’s why I need to make Cheng Susu misunderstand the female lead now.”

The System fainted on the spot: “……” Sorry to bother you.

Pei Yiling hadn’t gotten into a car accident, and Cheng Susu hadn’t gone to visit her. At the moment, Cheng Susu was still stuck at home by Gu Lian. The two families had just finally come to an agreement about Gu Lian and Yu Liuxue’s engagement. Now that Cheng Susu could finally send him off, she was preparing to rush to the hospital to take care of her daughter—only for that infuriating Su Ying to come back.

Now that Su Zhenchuan and the Gu Family had all left, Cheng Susu dismissed the servants with a dark expression, ready to give Yu Liuxue a proper scolding. “Stop right there!”

Yu Liuxue stopped immediately. “Is there something you need?”

Cheng Susu walked up to her and slowly looked her over. Su Ying had been acting like a completely different person lately. They were both seasoned foxes. Cheng Susu wasn’t naïve enough to believe Su Ying truly liked her daughter. Su Ying suddenly clinging to Fufu clearly had an ulterior motive, and to Cheng Susu, that motive was laughable.

Su Ying had endured for so many years, and now she couldn’t hold back any longer—her true colors were showing. Cheng Susu curled her red lips into a cold smile. “Su Ying, I’ll be blunt with you today. I’ll give you two million. From now on, stay far away from Fufu.”

“If you dare take the money and still try to ruin Fufu and Tianyou’s marriage, I won’t let you off!”

Yu Liuxue thought this rich lady was being ridiculously stingy. She lowered her head sadly. “Mom, you’ve really misunderstood me. I genuinely like Fufu! You don’t know this, but Gu Tianyou doesn’t actually care about Fufu at all. He just sees her as a plaything. The one he truly likes isn’t Fufu!”

Cheng Susu took a deep breath to keep her expression in check and let out a cold laugh. “Oh? Are you saying the person he likes is you?”

Yu Liuxue quickly shook her head. “Mom, that’s another misunderstanding. The person Gu Tianyou likes isn’t Fufu, and it’s not me either.” She paused, then, under the System’s horrified gaze, declared excitedly, “The person he really likes… is you!”

    The System: “!!!”

Cheng Susu froze: “???” What the hell are you saying?

But she quickly realized the other party was clearly trying to mess with her. Her expression turned frosty. “I don’t care who he likes. If you dare cling to my daughter again, I won’t let you off easy!”

    “Just wait and see!”

Yu Liuxue hadn’t expected her outrageous excuse to actually work. Since that plan failed, she immediately came up with another. “Mom, how about this? You just said if I’m willing to leave Fufu, you’ll give me one million, right?”

Cheng Susu looked up sharply. Yu Liuxue gave a slight smile. “Mom, even if I casually sold one of the family’s collectibles, it’d be worth more than that. If you’re so short on money, why don’t I give you ten million, and in return, you let me and Fufu be together?”

“Think about it. We’re already family. If I end up with Fufu, wouldn’t that just make us even closer? As the saying goes, ‘Don’t let the fat water flow into other people’s fields.’ You wouldn’t want Fufu to leave you, would you? If I’m with Fufu, the two of us can take care of you for the rest of your life.”

With every word Yu Liuxue said, Cheng Susu’s blood pressure rose. Finally, she couldn’t take it anymore and shouted, “Fufu is your biological sister!”

Yu Liuxue looked a little regretful. “If that really won’t work, then maybe you and I…”

Just then, the sound of a vase shattering came from behind them. Cheng Susu immediately turned around, but there was no one there. She hurriedly ran after the sound, but didn’t even catch a glimpse of the person. Furious and panicked, she clenched her jaw. If word of this got out, how would the Su Family maintain their reputation in society? They’d become the biggest joke in town!

Not only would she lose face, but even Fufu and Tianyou’s marriage might run into serious trouble.

Cheng Susu glared at the innocent-looking troublemaker. Seeing that she was about to explode, Yu Liuxue quickly tried to explain. “Mom, please don’t be angry. No matter how much I like my sister, marriage is a serious matter, not something to take lightly.”

“Whether she likes me or Gu Tianyou, I will respect her choice.” Yu Liuxue said sincerely, “Actually, I can feel how much she cares about Gu Tianyou. I just want to hear her answer from her own mouth.”

“Fine. I’ll let you hear it right now.” Cheng Susu immediately pulled out her phone and dialed Su Fufu’s number.

The call rang a few times, then was abruptly hung up. Cheng Susu’s expression darkened. Refusing to give up, she called several more times, only to finally receive the message that the phone had been turned off.

Cheng Susu instantly flew into a rage. Seeing this, Yu Liuxue quickly put on an expression of indifference, as if it had nothing to do with her. “Mom, since Little Sister isn’t in a good mood today and doesn’t want to answer, I’ll just ask her myself another day. I left so abruptly just now, I didn’t even get the chance to apologize to Miss Gu.”

She gave a polite smile. “Mom, please rest well and take care of your health. Don’t let yourself get worked up.”

With that, Yu Liuxue slipped away. The System had just barely managed to stabilize its mood when it heard Yu Liuxue muttering to herself, “I wonder if that little maid will repeat what I just said. If she’s too afraid of Cheng Susu’s authority and keeps her mouth shut, then that’ll be a problem.”

Suddenly, her eyes lit up. “Ugh! Why don’t I just say it myself? Cut out the middleman and I can spin the story however I want!”

The System cracked on the spot. “……”

How was this Host still alive when she spouted nonsense like this every single day? Could it be that all these melodramatic novel worlds were still law-abiding societies?

The System, in a moment of madness, had a bold idea.

Thanks to Yu Liuxue’s efforts, the Su Family’s affairs quickly drew public attention.

“Oh my god! Aren’t Su Ying and Su Fufu biological sisters? How could something like this happen? Back in ancient times, they’d be drowned in a pig cage for this!”

“Ugh! I heard Su Ying’s vicious behavior in the past was all an act! Even that time she was caught by reporters was a setup she orchestrated herself. Her goal was to seduce Gu Tianyou and make Su Fufu see his true colors.”

“I don’t know if Su Fufu has seen through Gu Tianyou or not, but I definitely can’t figure out what on earth the Su Family is doing. The Gu Family is an elite, prestigious clan. Isn’t the Su Family just trying to climb the social ladder? All they had to do was quietly wait for the marriage. Why stir up such a scandal?”

“And there’s more! I heard Su Ying isn’t just entangled with Su Fufu—she might even have something going on with Cheng Susu!”

    Everyone gasped. “What?!”

When Cheng Susu heard these outrageous rumors, her face turned green. She had no idea who had been eavesdropping that day, so she simply fired everyone and hired an entirely new staff. But among the new hires was a cannon fodder supporting female character from the original story who had a notoriously loose tongue. As a result, even after changing the staff for half a month, the gossip outside didn’t die down—instead, it became even more exaggerated. Even Su Zhenchuan got dragged into it.

Lately, Su Zhenchuan had been busy dealing with company troubles. Other than eating and sleeping, he barely had a moment’s rest. He was so swamped that he had no time or energy to pay attention to the rumors. By the time he noticed that people were looking at him more and more strangely, it was already too late.

Completely confused, he called his assistant into the office. The assistant stood at a distance from his desk. Su Zhenchuan frowned in displeasure. “Come here.”

Seeing that he was angry, the assistant had no choice but to steel himself and take two steps forward. Su Zhenchuan, already irritated by the strange looks he’d been getting, saw the assistant’s constipated expression and didn’t bother to press further. “Have a lot of employees been gossiping about me lately?”

The assistant immediately tensed up and stammered, “President Su, th-this…”

    Su Zhenchuan’s brow furrowed. “Speak!”

The assistant had no choice but to close his eyes and spill everything.

After hearing it all, Su Zhenchuan nearly fainted on the spot. He gripped the edge of his desk, his face alternating between pale and flushed. He had worked so hard for the sake of his family, and Cheng Susu not only failed to manage the household properly, but even let such things leak out!

He picked up his phone, and the moment Cheng Susu answered, he unleashed a furious tirade. Caught off guard by this sudden disaster, Cheng Susu was enraged too. For the first time in her life, she argued back and had a shouting match with Su Zhenchuan. Half an hour later, both of them hung up the phone, their chests heaving with rage, nearly driven mad.

But the storm hadn’t passed. Just as Su Zhenchuan was trying to catch his breath, he received another piece of terrible news: several senior executives at the company had resigned en masse and were preparing to jump ship to the Xi Family’s company.

Su Zhenchuan’s face went deathly pale as he collapsed into his chair. Only then did he realize that the couple hadn’t spared him back then—not at all. They had never let him off the hook. To avenge their daughter, they had endured in silence for over a decade, planting countless pawns within his company, all waiting for the right moment to deliver a fatal blow, striking directly at his heart and leaving him no chance to recover.

Just as Su Zhenchuan was trembling and trying to get up, someone burst into the office. “President Su, bad news! The shareholders are all selling their stocks at low prices!”

Su Zhenchuan’s face turned red with fury. “What?!”

How had it come to this so suddenly?!

“Who did they sell to? For how much?!”

While Su Zhenchuan was investigating the destination of the stocks, another person rushed into the office to report that, due to the impact of the rumors, there was a growing call within the company to replace him. Su Zhenchuan’s face turned ashen. He braced his hands on the desk, then slammed it hard. Like an enraged lion, he growled in a low voice, “Impossible!”

It was impossible that these baseless rumors alone could be enough to push him out of the company.

But at this point, no matter what Su Zhenchuan said, it was useless. If he had any sense and chose to step down voluntarily, the company might still leave him a seat at the table. But if he stubbornly refused and waited until the company ruthlessly expelled him, then he would never be able to lift his head in public again.

Su Zhenchuan thought about it for several days. Finally, with bloodshot eyes and a hoarse voice, he asked his assistant, “After I leave, who’s taking my place?”

The assistant didn’t dare breathe too loudly. “Miss Su.”

    Su Zhenchuan’s brow furrowed. “Fufu?”

“No, Miss Su Ying,” the assistant said hesitantly. “When the shareholders were dumping their stocks, Miss Su bought them all in one go. She now holds the largest share in the company. And since she’s your daughter, the others agreed to appoint her as the new President Su…”

Su Zhenchuan smashed the jade Pixiu statue on his desk in a fit of rage.

So that was it! This had all been Su Ying’s scheme! He had guarded against Cheng Susu for so many years, only to be brought down by the daughter he had always overlooked. Su Zhenchuan was filled with regret and hatred. He had originally planned to cause some trouble for Yu Liuxue before stepping down, but her troubles were swiftly resolved by the people arranged by the Xi couple. They even forced him to relinquish his position within a week.

After much effort, Su Zhenchuan finally forced himself to issue a public statement. But the senior executives who had declared their intent to resign and jump ship just two weeks ago suddenly changed their minds and returned to their posts, one after another pledging their loyalty to Yu Liuxue. When Su Zhenchuan heard about it, he nearly coughed up blood from anger.

Gu Lian hadn’t expected that after just a short time apart, Yu Liuxue would rise with such thunderous momentum to become the new President Su. She couldn’t help but glance at Gu Tianyou and secretly gritted her teeth.

Recently, Su Fufu had been injured and was resting at home. Coupled with the swirling rumors, she hadn’t gone out in quite a while. She had only vaguely heard about what was happening outside. So when she learned that Su Ying had taken over her father’s position and assumed control of the company, she was instantly overcome with panic.

In that instant, everything suddenly became clear to her. So it had all been Su Ying’s scheme. All that talk about liking her, about being the only one in the world who truly loved her—it was all lies! Every word had been a lie! The real purpose was to hypnotize her, then make a move under the cover of darkness and steal the company her father had promised to give her!

Su Fufu was filled with both regret and fury. She regretted ever letting her guard down and believing Su Ying’s nonsense, giving her the perfect opportunity to strike. She was furious that her father had so easily agreed to hand over the company to Su Ying, and that her mother hadn’t opposed it in the slightest.

She bit her lip, unable to stop herself from thinking: Do Dad and Mom not love me anymore?

They had both cheated. Surely, that meant their relationship had already fallen apart. Otherwise, how could they both be so indifferent to her? Su Fufu felt like the most pitiful person in the world. Her parents, who had always treated each other with polite distance, had each gone off and had affairs—and come out of the closet, no less. Now they only cared about themselves and their lovers, with no time or energy left for her. Her only sister turned out to be a ruthless schemer who played dumb to deceive her, leading her around in circles.

Everyone in the family was thinking only of themselves, scrambling to seize the greatest benefit they could. She was the only one, foolish and clueless, left in the dark.

Su Fufu’s eyes welled up with tears. Now that she couldn’t rely on her parents, and even Su Ying—who once claimed to like her—was untrustworthy, the only person she could depend on was Brother Tianyou. She clenched her fists unconsciously. Brother Tianyou was her only way out. She couldn’t afford to lose him too!

Now, the only thing she could do was get pregnant with Brother Tianyou’s child as soon as possible. Then she could marry him for the baby’s sake and enjoy a lifetime of wealth and glory.

After calming down a bit, Su Fufu even began to doubt everything Su Ying had ever said to her—including that whole story about testing Gu Tianyou for her sake. Maybe Su Ying had never let go of Gu Tianyou at all. In her heart, he was still her ideal partner. She was just waiting for the right moment to snatch him back, just like Su Fufu had once stolen him away.

A wave of fear washed over Su Fufu. She was afraid this was only the beginning of Su Ying’s revenge. Yet she couldn’t stop herself from feeling jealous—jealous that Su Ying had taken over her father’s company and transformed from an unloved, motherless child into the powerful and respected President Su. Once Su Ying solidified her position, with her rising status, who knew how many wealthy families would be lining up to marry her?

If that happened, Su Fufu’s spotlight would be completely stolen.

With no one else at home, Su Fufu grew so anxious she developed blisters in her mouth from the stress. But it was all useless.

Yu Liuxue had transformed into President Su overnight. Her grandparents were overjoyed, grinning from ear to ear. Ever since their daughter died, they hadn’t been this happy. Old Madam Xi held Yu Liuxue’s hand, her eyes shimmering with tears of joy. “If Xiaomu could see how successful you’ve become, Yingying, she would be so proud of you.”

Old Master Xi said nothing, but his throat tightened. He turned away from the two of them and quietly wiped away a tear.

Yu Liuxue couldn’t help but smile. “Grandpa, Grandma, don’t worry. I will definitely avenge Mom. Su Zhenchuan is just the beginning. Soon, Cheng Susu and Su Fufu won’t be able to escape either. The way they forced Mom to her death back then—I’ll return the favor and make them taste the same pain she did.”

Old Master Xi quickly turned back, laughing heartily. “Good! Good! No one in the Xi Family is weak or useless!”

“But…” Old Madam Xi frowned with concern. “Are you really planning to be with Miss Gu?”

Lately, the Gu Family had been in turmoil. Rumor had it the illegitimate child was trying to seize power. To balance things between Gu Tianyou and Gu Ronghua, Old Master Gu and Madam Gu had divided everything equally among the three children. Everyone acknowledged Gu Tianyou’s excellence, but no one had expected Gu Lian to be just as capable. Time and again, she surprised people, earning their admiration. Aside from Gu Ronghua, Gu Lian’s reputation now rivaled Gu Tianyou’s.

Yu Liuxue chuckled softly. “Grandma, I’ll bring Miss Gu to formally meet you another day. You’ll definitely like her.”

Recently, that hot-tempered Princess of Zuan had also been climbing the ranks at lightning speed—perhaps even faster than Yu Liuxue herself. Even Gu Tianyou had started to grow wary of her. But Gu Lian seemed completely unconcerned, still doing things her own way. Her bold and decisive actions had won her widespread praise.

Yu Liuxue planned to find time to sit down and talk with Gu Lian.

Hearing this, Old Madam Xi could only relax. Her granddaughter knew what she was doing. She had to trust her.

Yu Liuxue needed to return to the Su Family to prepare for her wedding with Gu Lian. But given the current situation, she made sure to order two bulletproof vests online, then went out of her way to buy various self-defense tools. Only after she had everything ready did she dare to call the driver to take her back to the Su residence.

Sitting in the car, she asked nervously, “How’s everyone’s mood lately?”

The driver was in utter awe of this eldest Su daughter’s bold moves. He was immensely grateful he had chosen the right side from the beginning. Hearing her question, he respectfully replied, “President Su…” Realizing that Su Zhenchuan was no longer the all-powerful head of the company, he quickly corrected himself. “The old master and Second Miss Su are in a bad mood. Madam Su hasn’t been coming home much lately.”

Yu Liuxue raised an eyebrow in surprise and asked the System, “What kind of spell did Pei Yiling cast on Cheng Susu? She actually trusts her that much?”

The System sounded utterly defeated. “Probably the magic of money.”

If Cheng Susu wasn’t home, things would be much easier. Su Zhenchuan had already lost his power, but Yu Liuxue had left him with enough dignity and room to breathe, so there wouldn’t be any conflict between them in the short term. The real problem was the female lead. After everything Yu Liuxue had pulled, Su Fufu wasn’t stupid. Once she calmed down and thought things through, she’d realize it had all been a setup. So now, Yu Liuxue had to be on guard against Su Fufu’s desperate counterattack.

If she decided to go down in a blaze of glory, no one would come out unscathed.

Yu Liuxue hadn’t been back to the Su residence in so long that she could barely recognize the way. Only Su Fufu was home. The moment she saw Yu Liuxue, she flew into a rage and charged at her. “So you’ve been lying to me this whole time! Su Ying, I hope you die a horrible death!”

Yu Liuxue immediately turned and ran, explaining as she fled, “Fufu, calm down! I didn’t have a choice! Dad’s misconduct damaged the company’s image. Everyone started selling off their shares. If I hadn’t stepped in, our family would’ve gone bankrupt!”

“Fufu, I did this for you! That’s the only reason I took over this mess!” Yu Liuxue kept running and making excuses. “If our family went bankrupt, I could still go back to my grandparents’ place. But you? You’d be left out on the streets. I like you so much—how could I bear to see you suffer like that?”

Su Fufu was livid. So now you’re saying you stole everything from me for my own good?!

“You think I’d believe a word you say?” Su Fufu stopped in her tracks and glared coldly at Yu Liuxue. Yu Liuxue stopped too, looking guilty. “Fufu, I really didn’t lie to you. My mom left me a huge sum of money. I figured it was just sitting there, so I might as well use it to buy Dad’s company shares. I didn’t mean to buy so much—it just sort of happened.”

Didn’t mean to? Bought too much by accident? Seriously? Who even talks like that?

Su Fufu forced herself to calm down. “You know full well that Dad already decided to leave the company to me…”

“Fufu, if you want it, I’ll give you the company right now.” Yu Liuxue cautiously moved closer to her. “Fufu, I mean it. No one in this world loves you more than I do.”

“Everything I’ve done has been for the sake of being with you.”

Su Fufu knew she was lying, but she couldn’t help hesitating. Su Ying had become so powerful now—if she chose to be with Su Ying instead…

It didn’t seem like such a bad idea.

At least she wouldn’t have to worry about the rest of her life.

Just as she was seriously considering it, a cold voice suddenly snapped her back to her senses. “Don’t you dare!”
