    Chapter 45: Slaughter

Lin Xiaoyu did not hesitate in the slightest.

The moment the Qingfeng Sword left its scabbard, her figure vanished from the spot.

    Grand Dao Evasion Technique-

The sword light flashed like silk, drawing a brilliant arc across the blood-red space.

The first head flew into the air.

It belonged to a Foundation Establishment disciple who had only just reacted. Before he could even see what his enemy looked like, his vision spun wildly.

    “Enemy attack!”

Just as the alarm was raised, the second and third heads hit the ground.

Lin Xiaoyu’s figure darted through the crowd. With every flash of her movement, another person fell.

    There were no wasted movements.

    There was no wasted power.

Every strike was precise, ruthless, and lethal.

This was what her master had taught her, one brutal blow at a time.

    *

Standing on the high platform, Xuetu’s pupils contracted slightly.

“Stop her! All of you, charge!”

With a wave of his hand, the disciples below who had not yet fully succumbed to the demonic transformation swarmed forward.

    Fifty people.

    A hundred people.

    Two hundred people.

Inside the blood-red space, the battle cries were deafening.

    Lin Xiaoyu was surrounded.

Yet there was not a trace of fear in her eyes.

    Only cold indifference.

    “Come.”

    she said softly.

    And then-

    The sword light flared violently!

The Heavenly Dao Divine Art circulated furiously within her body, pouring purple-gold Heavenly Dao Primordial Power into the blade.

Golden lightning faintly crackled along the Qingfeng Sword.

She swept her sword in a wide arc!

The dozen or so people at the very front were sliced in half at the waist before they could even scream.

Blood splattered everywhere as severed limbs flew through the air.

But the crowd behind them kept charging forward.

Most of the Blood Fiend Sect’s disciples were desperate outlaws, bloodthirsty and accustomed to slaughter.

Facing a girl of fifteen or sixteen, their eyes held nothing but greed and madness.

    “Kill her!”

“Her blood will definitely be highly nourishing!”

    “Charge!”

    Lin Xiaoyu did not speak.

    She simply swung her sword.

    One strike.

    Two strikes.

    Three strikes.

Every sweep of her blade claimed several lives.

Her clothes were already soaked in blood, making it impossible to tell if it belonged to her enemies or herself.

    But she did not stop.

    She could not stop.

Because these people were all members of the Blood Fiend Sect.

Because every single one of them had their hands stained with the blood of the innocent.

    Because-

They were just like the people who had murdered her mother all those years ago.

    “Die!”

Lin Xiaoyu growled, decapitating the last man with a single sweep.

Even as his head flew through the air, the man’s eyes remained wide, his face filled with disbelief.

How could a girl in the Qi Refining Stage possibly…

    Thud.

    The corpse hit the floor.

Lin Xiaoyu stood amidst the mountain of corpses and sea of blood, panting heavily.

    Two hundred people.

    All dead.

From start to finish, barely half an incense stick’s time[1] had passed.

    *

    Xuetu’s face was livid.

Having lived for hundreds of years, he had seen countless geniuses.

But he had never seen a girl like this.

In the Qi Refining Stage, yet she slaughtered Foundation Establishment cultivators like chickens.

What kind of monster was she?

“Who on earth are you people?” he asked in a low voice.

    Lin Xiaoyu did not answer.

She simply raised her head and looked at the monsters sitting cross-legged on the high platform.

Three hundred and twenty-seven people cultivating the Blood Burning Scripture.

One hundred and eighty at the first level, one hundred and twenty at the second, twenty-six at the third, and one at the fourth.

These people were the true scourge.

Once their cultivation reached completion, they would turn into bloodthirsty monsters who knew only slaughter, bringing ruin to countless innocent people.

Lin Xiaoyu gripped her hilt tightly and walked toward the high platform, step by step.

    *

    Xuetu’s expression changed dramatically.

    “You dare!”

He roared, preparing to leap down from the platform.

Those cultivating the Blood Burning Scripture had been personally entrusted to him by the Sect Master.

If anything went wrong, even a hundred deaths would not redeem him!

    However-

The moment he took a step, his entire body froze.

    An aura.

An aura, faint yet carrying the weight of heavenly majesty, descended from the void and locked onto him completely.

The aura was incredibly faint, so faint it was almost imperceptible.

Yet Xuetu’s soul was screaming in warning-

If he moved even an inch, he would die.

Stiffly, he turned his head to look at a certain spot in the void.

There, a figure in green robes stood quietly.

He had a very young face, looking no older than his early twenties.

    His cultivation-

    The Qi Refining Stage?

    Xuetu was stunned.

But the aura locking onto him was clearly far more profound than even the Sect Master’s.

    “Who… who are you?”

    Chen Ping did not answer.

He simply watched him quietly, his gaze as calm as still water.

Yet deep within those eyes, a faint purple-gold light swirled.

    The Grand Dao Divine Eyes-

Xuetu felt as if his soul was being pierced through by that gaze, leaving all his secrets laid bare.

His forehead was beaded with cold sweat.

    He wanted to move.

    But he did not dare.

Because he knew that the moment he dared to act, a thunderous strike would crush him.

    Meanwhile, the girl-

She had already begun her slaughter.

    *

    On the high platform.

Lin Xiaoyu stepped onto the first tier.

Those cultivating the Blood Burning Scripture were currently at a critical juncture in their training and could not move at all.

They could only watch helplessly as the sword light descended.

    The first strike.

The head of a first-level monster flew into the air.

    The second strike.

    Another one.

The third strike, the fourth, the fifth…

Lin Xiaoyu swung her sword expressionlessly, taking a life with every blow.

These monsters did not even have time to scream before dying mid-cultivation.

Blood flowed down the high platform, gathering into a thin river of red.

    *

Xuetu watched all of this, his eyes bloodshot.

    “Stop! Stop!”

He roared, yet he did not dare move a muscle.

Because that aura remained locked onto him.

If he moved even slightly, he would die.

“Who on earth are you people?!”

he asked again, his voice hoarse.

    Chen Ping finally spoke.

    “Passersby.”

    His voice was very soft.

Xuetu nearly spat out a mouthful of blood in sheer frustration.

    Passersby?

A passerby kills two hundred of my disciples?

A passerby slaughters everyone on my platform?

But he did not dare lash out.

Because he could feel that the young man before him possessed unfathomable power.

    *

    On the high platform.

Lin Xiaoyu had already fought her way to the second tier.

Of the one hundred and twenty second-level monsters, less than half remained.

She was covered in blood, and her Qingfeng Sword was stained red, yet it remained as sharp as ever.

With every strike, another life was snuffed out.

She seemed to have gone mad.

There was only slaughter in her eyes.

Because with every kill, she remembered the way her mother looked right before she died.

Because with every kill, she drew one step closer to her revenge.

    “Mother…”

    she murmured.

    “Your daughter is avenging you.”

    “Can you see me?”

The sword light flared once more.

    *

    The third tier.

    Twenty-six third-level monsters.

The auras of these people were noticeably stronger. Even while cultivating, the blood Qi surrounding them was much denser.

Lin Xiaoyu thrust her sword toward the throat of the nearest person.

The tip of the blade pierced three inches into the flesh-

Suddenly, the man snapped his eyes open!

His blood-red eyes stared fixedly at her.

    “You… dare…”

he rasped, his voice sounding like scraping metal.

Without the slightest hesitation, Lin Xiaoyu drove her blade forward!

    Pfft-

The throat was pierced straight through.

The man’s eyes bulged as he died, his gaze frozen in disbelief.

But his death struggles woke several of the neighboring third-level monsters.

    “Enemy attack!”

    “Kill her!”

Five people lunged at once, their blood Qi surging wildly!

Instead of retreating, Lin Xiaoyu pressed forward.

Activating the Grand Dao Evasion Technique, her figure darted between the five of them.

With the Heavenly Dao Divine Art running, purple-gold sword light crisscrossed the air.

    Five moves.

    Five people fell.

Lin Xiaoyu dropped to one knee, panting heavily.

    She was injured.

A gash had been torn into her left shoulder, blood soaking her clothes.

    But she smiled.

    Twenty more to go.

Xuetu could no longer sit still.

He watched the subordinates he had painstakingly nurtured for years being harvested like sheep for the slaughter, one strike at a time by that girl.

Most of the one hundred and eighty first-level cultivators were dead.

Of the one hundred and twenty second-level cultivators, less than thirty remained.

Of the twenty-six third-level cultivators, six had already fallen.

He had spent countless efforts and resources to build this force!

The Sect Master wanted these people in three days. If anything went wrong-

    “Stop!”

Xuetu roared, no longer caring about the aura locking onto him.

His body shot upward, transforming into a streak of bloody light as he lunged straight toward Lin Xiaoyu on the platform!
